So we went Friday to Friday last week for a nice chill out holiday. Our initial thoughts were a very clean hotel that had been refurbished relatively recently, felt modern and stylish throughout.
The food in the main buffet restaurant Arête was mostly good, a lovely salad and cheese selection in particular. A lot of the reviews we read beforehand had suggested the food was absolutely amazing, it wasn't that amazing but better than average and better than most all inclusive hotels.
The best part of this hotel was the location, with a choice of beach and pool days you had the best of both worlds. The sun loungers were literally the best we have ever come across, very comfortable and all come with a pillow, must have been expensive for hotel to purchase at the start but well worth it.
Also the sparkling wine was lovely and to have that on the inclusive menu was wonderful and we had many!
Not so good parts were the animation team, they tended to make more effort with the French speaking guests. For example would hang around by French guests on their sun beds and would chat for a very long time, very loudly and seemed to forget the other guests nearby may not speak French but also didn't necessarily want to hear this loud chatting, they were rather inconsiderate.
Second was the restaurant il pirata.... the lady who works there was absolutely lovely and clearly works very hard to ensure all guests are well taken care of. We booked a meal here (all inclusive guests have 15% discount) on our last night, and had expected it to be very romantic and relaxing, based on the candles and chilled atmosphere. However, half an hour after we arrived a couple arrived with a young baby. This young baby clearly wasn't interested in sitting quietly for the evening and very soon after they sat down he started squealing. He continued to squeal for the entire meal! His father took him out every now and then but it wasn't the point, the peace had already been disturbed!
I would say the management should say no to children for dinner service. It's not a place for children, Arete is more appropriate.
Il Pirata should be somewhere where you can come and escape the rest of the hotel, and really relax. It was a shame.
That being said the food was absolutely wonderful! The crayfish & safron risotto was divine and the beef fillet cooked to perfection! We had to wait about half an hour for our wine to arrive but as an apology we were given a lovely dessert on the house.
Overall a very nice hotel, just a couple of points that need addressing.

We stayed for a week in Capo Di Corfu in early September and enjoyed a relaxing and comfortable holiday. Our room (block 36) was one of the furthest from the beach however the advantage was that it was extremely quiet but still only a few minutes walk to the restaurants or pools. The staff a the hotel are all excellent and clearly have been well trained. The service in all restaurants and bars was first class and always with a smile. We spent the majority of our time at the quieter pool enjoying the relative calm and great service in Il Parata bar. The regular drinks service and occasional cold towel were most welcome.

The hotel tries to discourage sunbed blocking but it does happen. There are plenty of sunbeds for all guests but if you do need to have one of the prime locations by the pool then you must be prepared to get there early.

The buffet food was good. Always a wide choice, was regularly refreshed and we especially enjoyed the fresh cook corner and the salad starter options. There is a reasonable selection of drinks, the beer is good and our preference for wine was the rose however the red and white appeared to be enjoyed by other guests too. The Luna Rosa a la carte restaurant meal was excellent and offered a good selection of traditional dishes. Our only negative is the smoking. Part of the pleasure of a holiday of this type is the outdoor dining and this experience can be tarnished when the adjoining table 'lights up' as you eat. With the vast majority of guests non smokers perhaps the hotel should consider non smoking sections.

Overall we had a relaxing and enjoyable week in Capo Di Corfu that represented excellent value. We travelled with Thomsons but didn't see a representative all week. Other reviews had mentioned the taxi transfer option which we took and this proved to be worthwhile. This is not a hotel for those who are looking to party and most of the bars are winding down by 11:00pm but for those who seek a relaxing break in a comfortable hotel by a safe beach then it is highly recommended.

What do you want from your holiday? If like us you are just looking for a comfortable week to relax by the pool, beach or room in a beautiful location with lovely views, then this is the resort for you. If cleanliness, friendly service and good food choice are also important, then the Mayor Capo fits the bill. We weren't disappointed in this resort and enjoyed a very chilled week.
Rather than take the 2 hour bus transfer to / from the hotel, we took the advice of previous reviewers and booked a taxi with Thomsons, which only took an hour and cost around £50 round trip. For the distance, we felt it was also good value.
Our room was situated the furthest from the reception/ main area which we were taken to by a buggy. Although at first we were a little disappointed to be across the road, it turned out to be perfect because it was very quiet. It turned out to be a very short walk to pool, beach and restaurants.
We like eating outdoors and all the bars and restaurants offer this. My only criticism is that in the evenings when it gets very dark, the restaurant should have table lights so that we can see what we are eating!
We avoid the entertainment as it does not interest or appeal to us so I cannot comment on this. It did not bother us that most people visiting this resort are French and German, as the staff catered for our needs just as well. It really isn't an issue.
A note to people who have mobility issues; The paths are flat around the resort and pools, bars are easily accessible. There are ramps into the reception area the restaurants. I noticed quite a few people with wheelchairs and mobility aids at this resort. However, there is a step or two to negotiate in some places /rooms. There may be rooms available where access is easier. You can phone for the buggy to transport you when you can't manage.
The padded sunbeds are very comfortable and there seemed to be plenty around the pool and beach and the waiter staff regularly come round to offer drinks which saves you going to bar. The very large bean bags on the beach and in the gardens are also very comfortable to relax in. Beach towels are available at designated times twice a day.
Top tips:
The El Parate bar by the top pool is quieter and is mainly adults only.
The Luna Rosa restaurant is smaller, quiet and more appealing and we enjoyed our breakfasts here. Apparently it also offers lunches but we didn't realise this until too late! This is also the a la carte restaurant where we enjoyed a delicious meal one night.
The reception staff are only too willing to help with any problems. Don't moan! Tell them and they will try and sort it.
You don't need to wear long trousers at dinner. (A bug bearer with my husband on many holidays!) Smart shorts are accepted here.
Altogether this was a very pleasant and relaxing week. If we had stayed another week, we probably would have taken a couple of trips away from the resort. People recommend the boat trip to Naxos.

I would definitely come here again. Very clean and tidy hotel with excellent views across the sea. Rooms are excellent and staff unbelievably helpful. Let down slightly by quality of meals - needs a grill corner with someone flipping freshly cooked steaks, chicken etc. Other grumble is that the all inclusive drinks menu needs more classic cocktails and fewer hotel specials. Other people have commented on kids club staff being disinterested and that bar/waiter service is slow but we found the kids club staff great and service very quick.

Very nice hotel! The kitchen is very delicious. We had a really awesome vacations there. One of thing which was very important for us, was something to do with a child to make him happy. Thanks to Elena from miniclub for kids, which knows a lot of languages, and who really could find the same language with the kids. Special thanks to good Valleyball player, Victor we had really good time with this animator. And of caurse special thanks for the most nice waitress in all hotel Natalia. Hope to visit this hotel one more time next summer.
