We stayed here for the first and last night of our holiday. Lovely hotel with super friendly and helpful staff. Food and drink definitely at the upper end of the $ spectrum but nice to have a bit of luxury to start and finish our trip. We had a really late flight and were able to stay at the hotel for the day using the pools and facilities and access to the transit rooms for a shower before the flight was fantastic.

This is a wonderful spot. I only stayed one night but it was enough for me to fall in love with it. It's pretty standard fare in terms of 5 star hotels - there's nothing particularly original or dramatic about it. It's just that it is a very good hotel in Tahiti and the setting is beyond description. The food is lovely, the rooms are super comfortable, and the pool is terrific. There's a lot on offer - snorkelling, jet skiing, diving etc. And buses laid on to take you into Papeete. The lagoonarium is particularly charming - a seawater pool created in the grounds of the hotel, with coral and brightly coloured fish.

But actually, all you want to do is sit and gaze in wonder at the beauty of it.

We stayed here either side of a cruise and, despite this being a large hotel, the layout of separate units made it seem more intimate. The rooms we had both had lovely views of the pool and ocean. The first was on the ground floor so you could walk out through the French windows and the second on the top floor with more panoramic views. It is very humid in Tahiti so the first thing to do is to make sure the room air-con is working properly. The rooms were big enough and beds comfy; housekeeping was very efficient and friendly. There is a laundry room in each block and you will need to use it because of the humidity; pack some washing powder in your bag.
All the front of house staff were lovely and very helpful. Breakfast was a buffet and, although expensive, it set you up well for the day. See separate reports about the evening meals in both restaurants. Would stay here again and, having heard what others on the cruise said about their hotels I am confident we made the right choice.

Room Tip: Always ask for a sea view.

We spent two nights, one on each end of a trip to other islands of French Polynesia.
The high point, for us, was the saltwater lagoon. We sat on a bench in the shade, near where the ocean water is pumped in, and watched a large assortment of mostly brightly colored, small to large tropical fish jockey for position in the incoming water. They were probably just looking for food but some of them appeared to be playing in the incoming jets of water. They would swim up into the jet, get blown back, and repeat over and over again.
The place is beautiful but the shower in the bathroom had a problem. It look as if the shower head was meant to be detachable but it had been screwed to the wall and its holder was loose so it pointed not out at you but at the wall. I had to get out find something to use as a screwdriver and tighten the screw on the holder so it would point out and not at the wall. People had tried to tighten it so many times the screw head was stripped so you could not get it very tight. They need to replace it.

Had a nice pleasant time here. Love the pool/waterfall area. Loved the cute little lagoonarium that we snorkeled at. There are some gorgeous parrot fish there. I liked walking the resort and checking out all the little areas. They even have a turtle area. Cool place. They even had a very nice Polynesian dance show. One of the better ones we'd seen.

When I booked this had a balance of 5 stars and some 4 stars - but I think that is overstating it

Positives:
Good internet (seriously)
Best hotel in Tahiti (clue is probably to go to Moorea - but we wanted to stay in one place
Great lagoon areas and views

The food was 'fine' - but honestly 60'000 XPF for Brunch - was more expensive than Geneva, Zürich and the other world's capitals of expensiveness. Plus - the orange juice was from concentrate (yes, I know this is picky but this is a $400 a night hotel, at least we shall you have had Tropicana - and the Cafe Latte came from a Nespresso dried milk machine
Sent the Pizza back three times for being luke warm - in the end gave up and had some fries ... But a restaurant without a pizza oven should not serve pizza.

Happy holiday - but could have been so much better

My husband and I had a standard day use room on the last day of our honeymoon, before our departure back to the states. While the resort itself seemed nice enough, our room was definitely... dated. I think that they must be slowly updating all their rooms, and with good reason, as our room looked like it was decorated in 1978,,, and the shower plumbing seemed like it came from the 1930s or something. The shower head could be hung on a hook on the wall, but it wasn't able to stay straight, making it difficult to use.

That said, the room was more than fine for our purpose- a place to rest and hang out before a long international flight. It was definitely better than sitting around a hot airport for 10 hours. It was clean and had air-conditioning, and that's really all we needed. It's also like a 5 minute ride to the airport, making it extra convenient. Now, if I had to stay there for more than a night or two, I would definitely have tried to book a nicer room.

Wifi was included but was really really spotty and slow.

There is a nice small lagoon on the resort that you can snorkel in. We didn't go in, but we did watch the fish from above, and there was quite a lot of activity. The onsite restaurant, Te Tiare, was really good, and we had dinner there. See my review for that as well! The rest of resort seemed pleasant enough, although nowhere as nice as the other resorts we've seen.
