Huelgoat is a lovely Lakeside village with this Hotel it's star. Positioned perfectly overlooking the Lake with bedrooms that are spotless, roomy and most have a brilliant view. This is a country style Hotel and not one of your corporate soul less blocks. We were warmly greeted by Katherine {hope this is spelt correctly} who insisted on carrying our heavy luggage and during our stay was always on hand to ensure we were looked after. The owners Maud and Pascal were also ever present and they have created a lovely atmosphere where people feel comfortable and welcome. The food created by Pascal was superb and Maud ensures that front of house provides a first class service. They are also great fun and share their enjoyment of running this very busy Hotel,Restaurant and Pizzaria . We would highly recommend staying at this Hotel because we know you will be delighted.
A great stop for Roscoff and also a great stop to tour what is a very interesting part of France with wonderful Countryside villages but also easy access to beach resorts.

My Wife and I arrived by motorcycle which could be parked around the back of the hotel which although a bit uneven was OK. We received a smiling welcome from a lady who offered to carry our bags to our room. We were shown to our room which luckily included a small balcony overlooking the lake. The room was comfortable with TV etc. The bathroom was small(fibreglass 'add on') but with older properties this appears to be the norm as they were probably not designed to be on suite.
We found the town to be friendly/welcoming.
The hotel restaurant was open from 7-9pm and after enjoying a drink outside we were shown to a table by one of the waitresses. I opted for the belly pork and my Wife for the pizza(+ bottle of very nice rose)which was served very quickly and was wonderful although by now it was very busy. This was followed by the best(large) creme brulee I have tasted. We could not get over how efficient/attentive the service was considering how busy they were and it was reassuring that there was a mix of guests and locals. What a change from British restaurants where you hear the usual 'we are busy so meals will take some time'.
Enjoyed a good nights sleep followed by a very nice breakfast, served by the same lady who had welcomed us(she was still smiling).
All in all made to feel very welcome and we will certainly be returning.

Room Tip: Could ask for lake view

We spent a couple of nights here in a spacious room on the first floor overlooking the lake. Our room was clean and well equipped with a small sofa, desk and very comfortable bed. The bathroom was also spotless with lashings of hot water, toiletries and lovely fluffy towels. The hotel staff are very friendly and welcoming and spoke good English to supplement are not so good French. We ate in the hotel restaurant that offered a good range of individual dishes as well as the set menus. One night my wife enjoyed the largest and most tender lamb shank she has every had. Neither of us are really pizza fans but having read previous reviews thought we would give them a try and we weren't disappointed. An ultra thin crispy base with a very generous topping were truly scrumptious and at around 8-12 euros represented excellent value. When eating in the restaurant in the evening we found that an aperitif, two courses, a large pichet of wine and coffee came to around 55 euros. We would certainly make the hotel a base if visiting the area again.

Room Tip: Worth opting for a lake view oom

Called in this place in March for an evening meal. My husband had a pizza which was lovely and I opted for a plat du jour menu. The plat du jour was quite a strange experience as they serve the starter and main course together. I am not really sure why unless its to speed up service but if all the table are not having it it makes no sense. Food was reasonable quality and affordable price. Hotel is situated right on the side of the lake . So lovely on a sunny day.
