Serena is not only a hostess full of smiles, which makes sitting at her table a joy; but her space is especially warm and inviting. The prix fix menu is not to be doubted for variety or flavor - it is one of the best all hand made / home made meals you can find in Lazio in my opinion. Great italian food -nothing too fancy but oh so delicious. All local and prepared with love. It is a restaurant i will be frequently on a regular basis.

Serena is probably the most welcoming restaurant owner I have ever met but not in a gushing way - she is genuinely pleased to see new people coming in her door. The antipasti are, as much as possible, locally sourced and any vegetable additions are going to be from her vegetable garden. The quality is high and sometimes there are some delicious suprises. While you are eating in her spacious and comfortable dining room (or on her lovely terrace outside) she may well pass you by with an armful of vegetables that 10 minutes later are on your plate. Her pasta dishes are always excellent and I don't think I have ever had the same recipe. She uses what she has in the garden and then adds some twist: a locally-sourced pancetta (or guanciale) or maybe a scraping on non-traditional but delicious fresh ginger. To freshen your palate she may bring you a salad, again with sparklingly fresh ingredients where she may have added some of her almonds or an apple or a pear. The sweets are always excellent and sometimes her grandmother (88! - who also makes the egg pasta) makes some of the best gelato you can get - again using the melons or apricots or peaches from just outside the window. This is the weekday menu I am talking about. If you go at weekends then it is normally a great buzzing family affair with her father grilling great meats outside - altogether a more substantial but nevertheless enjoyable occasion. All this 5 minutes from a station that takes you into Rome in under an hour.... You feel so good when you drive out past the huge vegetable garden.
