The Pouilly Fuisse vineyard was exceptional. The wine was exceptional. The owner, sorry I cant remember her name, but she will tell you the story of the vines being passed down through her family for over 300 years. She took me and my husband through the caves and explained the process of their wine making. Then we went for a tasting and more education about the vineyard, and were explained the types of wines they offer and got to choose 3 that we wanted to taste. The wine was amazing. We bought two bottles. Drank one over the next few evenings of our trip and brought one home.

I want to highly recommend a tasting and visit to Chateau Fuisse, in the village of Fuisse. We stopped by yesterday afternoon(yes, on a Monday, it was open). The lady who did the tasting, is also the owner, of a winery, that has been in the same family for generations. It is a large holding, with the most wonderful wines. She took a lot of time to explain the "terroir" of their 140 plots, and the positions of the vines, in relation to the slopes, sun, etc. A really informative, and personal session. We didn't feel rushed at all, and enjoyed all of the wines we tasted, and bought a couple of the Les Brules, which is produced from just one plot. It was a really enjoyable stop, and since we are here for another couple of months, will go back and taste what we didn't yesterday. You won't be disappointed, if you are a fan of this wine.
