Our family was looking long for the perfect destination wedding location and Presto! Casa Vagator proved to be the answer to all our plans - a great destination to host the wedding, a perfect ambience and hospitality matched with the most dedicated staff (with a special mention to Sheila Dhody, owner of the property, chef Mohan and staff Arya, Abhishek among others) who left no stone unturned to see the celebrations run smooth.

All in all, an amazing experience and worth the cheques!

We stayed here in January 2017 for a week. It was my most beautiful stay in Goa so far. Our room was located down the hill and had clear beach view. Rooms are spacious and well decorated. Lighting is a little low in rooms. Bathrooms are very pleasant with all modern fittings.

Tucked away in the corner of vagator, the resort is a couple of minutes away from some awe-inspiring scenes of the beach. The beach itself is not very crowded except for some spirited, fun loving non-Indians !! The Rooms are very well done, large in size & the service is non-intrusive yet very efficient. Want to have a quite but exciting time with your friends ? This is the place. Cheers :)

We were a family of 6 who stayed at Casa Vagator from 4-9 Jan, 2017. In regards to our stay, mostly everything was great, but there were a few minor issues, so here are the goods and the not so goods –

The good –

1)The location was fantastic with great views of the beach and ocean. Also a stone’s throw away from Goa’s landmark restaurants like Thalassa and Antares.

2) The staff was extremely courteous and warm, and the overall hospitality was fantastic.

3) The food was also very homely and delicious, and the kitchen staff prepared whatever we requested for, even if it was not part of the menu.

4) Our rooms were also very comfortable. In fact we were put up in a unit that had 3 bedrooms, a small living and dining, as well as a small pantry. So it was like our own private apartment.

5) The overall ambiance of the resort was also very nice, very calm and peaceful.

6) The Vagator beach which was just a few steps down the resort was very clean and pristine, with great restaurants and shacks.

The not so good –

1) The swimming pool, though swimmable, was not as clean as we would have liked.

2) The head shower in our bathroom never worked during our entire stay in spite of repeated complains.

3) There was a night club right next door, as well as one on the beach that played blaring music, which was quite noisy and disturbing at times.

4) The wifi in the entire resort was extremely poor, in fact as good as non-existent.

5) No spa on site which was quite a let down.

But all in all, we had a wonderful stay and highly recommend the resort to all Goa lovers.

Room tip: For a family of 5-6, opt for the rooms A, B, C which are part of one unit.

The first impression about the hotel is rather underwhelming. As you walk further into the property, things start to look better. The hotel is on a hill side. So there is some amount of ups and downs, but it isn’t too bad. The rooms are spacious. Most of the Luxury rooms are further down the property and closest to the beach. These are the highest category rooms at the hotel, yet they are not the biggest. The management gave me the option to shift, but I chose not too because these room are bright and airy, and also closest to the beach.

Keep in mind that there is no direct beach access, but it’s very close; just 1 or 2 mins walk. Being on the hill side allows beautiful views from some parts of the hotel such as near the restaurant. There is also some seating area near the restaurant that was quite spectacular. Late in the evening past regular dinner time, there is usually nobody around. It was super to relax with the ocean in the moonlight and a glass of wine.

About the restaurant - Food is good, but don’t expect fancy stuff. The breakfast was really the only let down because there is hardly any choice. Casa Vagator being like a boutique hotel, I didn’t expect a huge breakfast spread. Even then, it was quite disappointing.

Service at the hotel was quite interesting. There are many instances where it was not really upto the mark. However, they make up for it by their willingness to serve. The hotel is also spotlessly clean.

In terms of location, it is within walking distance of some of the best restaurants in Goa such as Thallasa and Anteras. The beach also has many shacks with good food and drinks. It about 20 to 30 mins drive to places like Candolim with a multitude of dinning and party options. The location is really excellent.

In summary, Casa Vagator was delightful. With a few improvement, it will be one of the best in Goa.
