Lynne and Ian are perfect hosts and make you feel so welcome and looked after. Their cooking is amazing as is their hospitality. The rooms are comfortable and spotlessly clean. This was my 4th or 5th stay and everything was as good as ever. I am already looking forward to my next visit.

Room Tip: I have stayed in 3 of the 4 rooms and they are all great

Luckily I found Old Cider House on google. We had a really lovely stay. Arriving on Sunday evening we were shown to our room by Ian who made us feel most welcome. We were in the Poet's Room relating to Coleridge whose cottage is a National Trust property in the village. We had booked for an evening meal and it was delicious, cooked by Lynn and area very reasonable price. We also had a decent glass of wine too. Ian produced for my husband a product from his microbrewery which made an old man very happy!
Breakfasts were delicious with lots of fruit, juice and cereals to start and a really good full English to complete a hearty start to the day along with toast made from real bread, not the usual plastic stuff.
We enjoyed every minute of our stay, our pleasure enhanced by the great welcome and treatment given to our dog. If only all places were as dog friendly as this one.
Nether Stowey is a lovely village with three pubs, one just for a good drink, the other two serving pub grub. We only used the Ancient Mariner which is opposite Coleridge Cottage. A friendly place which servesa wide menus of excellent pub grub. Good beer and wine, a very good Monday night quiz, what more would you want.
Strongly recommend the location and the Old Cider House, both delightful.

I needed to stay two nights in West Somerset and picked this place. It was exactly what I needed. I felt welcome, slept comfortably and had an excellent breakfast. There are two pubs providing good food within easy walking distance in this very quiet attractive village.

Both the Rose and Crown and the Ancient Mariner provide evening meals and the George is a very good watering hole. We are very lucky to have three pubs within a couple of minutes' walk of the house.

We found the Old Cider house to be friendly and perfect for our overnight stay. We would recommend this to anyone for a short stay. The house has a very homely feel and keeps in character with its surroundings while providing you with all you need for that weekend get away. Thank you to Lynne and Ian for making us welcome.

It is a family run hotel set in the centre of Nether Stowey. An excellent location for exploring this lovely part of the Quantock Hills. Close to lovely villages like Dunster which is full of old fashioned charm. We had an evening meal at the hotel which we shared with the Owners. An excellent meal of local produce with all the vegetables coming from their own kitchen garden. The room was large and comfortable with an excellent ensuite facilities. Whilst not possessing all the feature of a large hotel it is a small country hotel and excellent value.

You are right, we are not a large hotel, but a small rural B&B and can afford to give all our guess individual attention. This summer we have had a very good crop of fruit and vegetables from the garden and use these whenever we can. Guests just treated to a freshly baked courgette and lemon bread to go with their full English this morning.
