My boyfriend and I spent a week in Thailand first in Bangkok and then in Phuket. After all the hustle and bustle of our time time in Bangkok we were ecstatic to step into this beautiful, tranquil paradise that is Sawasdee Village! I cannot begin to describe how lovely the gardens, pool, buildings and restaurant of this resort are! At night the whole place is lit up with candles, which is just magical.

We were greeting by the most helpful and welcoming staff and presented with fresh face towels and cool, scented water which was a welcome relief from the heat and travelling.

Our room was so lovely and every day the cleaners made it up impeccably and they even left little flowers around the place, which was a lovely touch.

The pool is amazing and even has fountains and it's own bar, where you can get awesome cocktails in coconuts and pineapples!

The buffet breakfast is the best I have EVER had. The range and quantity of food is phenomenal. The have everything from cereals, fresh fruits, various breads and croissants, traditional hot thai foods and they even made you eggs to order (try the omelets with your choice of ingredients!)

The service of the staff is excellent and they really do go out of their way to help you. I even accidentally left a pair of shoes in the room when I left and they kindly arranged to post them back to me overseas.

This is such great value and if you stay here I'm sure you won't regret it. My boyfriend and I just loved it!

Spent 5 days here with a friend of mine. We had an absolutely fantastic time. The staff is extremely helpful and attending. The spa is truly remarkable...the prices might be 3-4x what you'd paid off site, but the experience is well worth it at least once. The breakfast in the morning didn't let us down once.
the hotel itself is very lush with greenery, ambiance, and koi ponds. The pool is dynamite. Our room, while not what we asked for (2 beds...we got 1 large one), was quite nice and served our needs well (but honestly, you're not going to spend most of your time there).
Since this is a review, there were a few things to note (but keep in mind these were minute compared to how wonderful our stay was). As others have posted here, it seems their billing department doesn't understand how some booking sites work. Upon our arrival, I was asked to pay even though I had paid already. It took a while (and a few photos of my bank account) but it worked itself out. Also, the drivers of the hotel can be a bit overt in pushing you to go to places that obviously they have a vested interest in (IE: if you go to the jewelry factory they get paid a portion of anything you buy).

Lastly, keep in mind this hotel is not ON THE BEACH. it's a bit of a walk to any beaches. They provide excellent car service to Kata beach, however, so don't let this discourage you unless you really want to walk around on the beach at sunset....still doable but not as easy as rolling out of bed and out the front door.

Truly a remarkable hotel and I will certainly be staying here if/when I return to Phuket. The "romantic dinner" was something that, if I was with a partner, would have absolutely won me soooo many brownie points :) . Great hotel. And a great vacation. (don't miss out on Phi Phi island tour....some of the most beautiful islands I have ever seen).

Dear Value Guest,

Thank you very much for your candid comment on TripAdvisor. Regarding to your recent stay with us, that would be great to hear that you are very appreciated during staying with us.Besides, we use the high quality products at The Baray Spa, then it made the price more expensive than others spa around our hotel. In addition to these, if you take a taxi from the airport, the driver always take you many places on the way to the hotel, Would you mind if I recomend you to choose our hotel taxi service for next time.We hope that you will have a chance to welcome you back soon.

I recently stayed at Sawasdee Village while on holiday with friends. I had read reviews on Tripadvisor, so I expected the hotel to be very nice. However, the hotel and staff exceeded my expectations. The property was beautiful everyhere you looked. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly and overall it was a wonderful experience. We participated in the cooking class and made use of the spa. The massage rooms were gorgeous and the standard of treatment would be hard to beat. The cooking class was extremely fun. I can't wait to go back to Sawasdee!

The service was fantastic from start to finish. The smiling staff were very personable, friendly and extremely efficient. Absolutely first class - especially Ple in reception, who was outstanding in sorting out my trip back to the airport at extremely short notice. The restaurant staff were very attentive and incredibly warm and friendly too.
The swimming pool was to die for - and the rooms luxurious, sparkling clean and spacious. The beds were extremely comfortable and the Internet facility a godsend. The showers, however, were a tad temperamental - the water temperature sometimes had a mind of its own :)
Although the beach is a good 10-15 minute walk away, there were sufficient hotel shuttles to the beach, so no problem at all.
The restaurant food was top-notch and no more expensive than the local restaurants. Extremely good value for money.
All in all - superb! Can't wait to return! A big thumbs up !!

Room tip: Can't go wrong :)

We stayed in the Baray Villas (Scorpius) for 2 weeks and it is was almost too good too be true. The decor from the moment you entered was opulent and inviting, from the piped music throughout the gardens to the lighting in the villas, attention to detail was evident at every turn. The staff were attentive but not intrusive and our personal assistant 'Or' made sure that our stay was perfect. We have travelled to Phuket many times over the past 15 years and stayed in and looked at a lot of other accommodation in and around Kata and Patong, but value for money these villas cannot be beaten. We will definitely be back to stay again!!!!
