I'd spent a couple of nights at the Sawasdee Village after a scuba diving cruise out of Phuket, so wanted a few days to rest before flying back.
The good :
- the grounds and rooms are lovely. They are tastefully designed in a traditional style, with nice gardens throughout. For a few days, you don't really feel the need to leave the grounds, particularly if you just want to rest
- very relaxing atmosphere. The swimming pool has a small bar there with staff who balance correctly being ready to serve you vs. leaving you in peace
- the restaurant is superb, both for breakfast and dinner I enjoyed eating there
- generally the staff are excellent, very helpful when I had requests
The bad :
- it's a fair bit away from the beach (about fifteen minutes on foot, just make sure you have the route explained or take their shuttle)
- the swimming pool is quite small, but it never had so many people so it felt crowded
- the street that the hotel is on is part of the strip of tacky restaurants/bars/massage places that is so annoying in Phuket. When you see the street, you're amazed such a beautiful hotel is just behind the gates.
- the rooms are small on the main part of the hotel. They are very comfortable and well appointed though. I didn't find that an impediment, but some people might....I'd spent a couple of nights at the Sawasdee Village after a scuba diving cruise out of Phuket, so wanted a few days to rest before flying back.

- there are mosquitos at night because of the gardens and pools (and in general in Phuket, there are many!), so bring some repellent.More
