I enjoyed my stay at Baan Kata Maytha but I kept getting bitten by either mosquitoes or some sort of bug. Had the maid use a bit of bug spray but that didn't do the job. On my last day, I went for a massage and the masseuse told me it was bedbug bites and not mosquito bites. I had her speak to the receptionist at Baan Kata Maytha but he apparently denied it.
The bugs had bitten areas all over my back and on my shoulders, as well as on my legs and arms. It was a bit maddening and I found myself tempted to constantly scratch my itches. A grouchy pharmacist at Boots Central Festival was less than helpful, so I finally got the meds I needed back in Bangkok.
In general the staff at Baan Kata Maytha are friendly but I don't think I'll be going back real soon.
