Stunning landscape but VERY dusty, dirt & gravel road. My first visit to a Provencial Park of any kind in Canada but an adventure all the same. We just didn't expect to have to drive 75 km to get to visitors center. We passed numerous logging trucks (some loaded and some not) that barreled down the dusty road leaving us surrounded in a cloud of dust. There were only 2 trucks that checked on our safety and slowed down to keep from burying us in their dust. This road is not meant for small cars and in fact would recommend an SUV or pickup armed with 4-wheel drive. Be in the lookout for black bear who seemed intent to walk alongside the road. Some would scurry away while others would pass with a look of curiosity as the moseyed on down the road or into the heavy brush. We enjoyed the many wildflowers scattered along the road! BUT be aware that if you get out of vehicle to look or take pictures.....the bugs are atrocious. Take plenty of deet and keep your head and face covered as they will bite. All in all the trip to Missinaibi was WELL WORTH every moment of experience. My only regret is that we couldn't stay longer and didn't see any more wildlife or birds.
