had booked a room on agoda at nordic, however when we arrived the "hotel" said they were fully booked. after 45 minutes on a trike we finally found bantayan cottages. this is a buget place. some rooms are 400 pesos so don't expect a 5* resort. the place could do with a lick of paint but the rooms are clean, the staff are lovely & it's great value. a short stagger to the beach 7 to the local restaurants. apparently they will let you use their kitchen too

We had a 5 beds cottage with bathroom for less than 8$/night in total it had a small kind of terace which was my favourite spot :D (free) morning coffees in company of small friends (kids of the owner) were precious moments. The staff is very kind and helpful, the hostel is about 10mn by walk from the beach/supermarket/restaurants. We really enjoyed our time there.

400/night.
This is my 3rd time here and I love this hostel in Bantayan.
Cheap but the place is nice and big rooms with free air flowing, thats make more airy, doesn't smell (room 2).
The staff will help you in every info u need and guid you with all the standard rates (local rates) for motor rental, islandhop etc.

I stayed in one of the "backpackers" rooms and bear in mind the price point - its very cheap for a private room! Really happy for the price and yes, the road noise was a little loud in the daytime (if you want a siesta!) But it was not an issue at all at night time!! Not a long walk into town or the beach, only 10 minutes! As far as I'm concerned Perfect location and room more than acceptable.

The only thing g that urgently needs improving is the shared bathroom upstairs. The shower won't stay on the wall which makes showering very difficult, whilst the toilet flush is broken and hence has no lid to the cistern. Sort this out and I would have given a 5* review.

Would definitely stay again though, staff friendly, amazing WiFi, very happy guest. :)

Put simply the road noise is the deal breaker, if you stop near the front of the house. These are the very Spartan front rooms. Not even a clothes hook on the wall! The place obviously survived Typhoon Hynan and many Typhoons previously. Cheap and very basic. Ok if you get a room at the rear, if not best to pay a little more and drink less. Or drink a lot to be able to sleep at the front. I am a heavily sleeper, but 24x7 it was loud and was waking me up as a very heavy sleeper. Some Cockroaches but this is Asia. Be warned if you book the front house. Facilities are old and tired. Clean and very basic. A bit of a walk from the beach and town. Price was the only highlight.
