Third visit. Wonderful spot for a relaxing break. Room was perfect with nice big comfy bed and plenty of living space. Spa is great. Fab spot for lazy relaxing holiday with decent nightlife not too far away. Perfect couples break - we'll be back !

i would definitely stay here again but i wouldn't stay here if you arent renting a car, staff were great and the rooms are clean and spacious but it is tucked away from portimao and the busier fun areas, so unless driving - do not stay so far from the strip!

We stayed at this hotel for a week and overall was very impressed with the hotel itself, it was very clean, staff were friendly and the location was picturesque across the river. There is not much to do outside the hotel but a short and cheap taxi ride takes you to a variety of bars and restaurants.
The food at the restaurant was hit and miss as there is a set menu at lunch but a buffet for dinner which doesn't always cater for everyone and didn't look very appealing. I would much prefer to have a set menu for dinner as opposed to lunch time. To add to this; the waiters were very good, however there were occasions where we were waiting around for them to take our food and drink orders which is not ideal when you are in the hot temperatures.
Also there is no entertainment during the evening which is not ideal for families with children as there is nothing for them to
do.
In total, the resort was very relaxing and stood up to the four star rating, I would recommend this hotel especially to friends and couples who require a chilled and relaxed holiday.

On arrival to our hotel we were greeted by a present receptionist who was helpful and told us the information which we would need for our stay. We didn't realise that we would be given fresh beach towels on a daily basis - all we had to do for this was to collect our initial card from reception on check in and then at the end of the day exchange them for clean towels. Our room overlooked fields and to the right hand side we could see the river and in the distance we could see Portimao - we stayed in 314b. My friends husband arranged to have champagne and flowers on arrival therefore if you wish to organise a romantic treat then this is possible. The hotel room in itself was very clean with fresh towels given daily. The beds and pillows were comfortable however the plastic sheet on the bed had to be removed in the end as it was noisy when you turned over during the night. There was three of us staying in our room - the room was an adequate size and we were supplied with a put up bed which is ideal for children.

During the day people tend to go to the sunbeams and place towels on them and then dissaper until late afternoon to sunbathe. If however you can see that no one are using the beds the staff will happily remove the towels so you can use the beds. The hotel has a childs pool and an infinity pool. The infinity pool is nice however it does overlook the dirt by the river which can be slightly smelly.

There is an indoor swimming pool which is located in the spa area, this pool is good nice and warm and has facilities such as jacuzzi, steam room and sauna however be mindful that if you wish to use any of these facilities you need to wear a swimming cap and also children are not allowed in the Jacuzzi. There are also facilities to use within the spa area for when you check out - these include showers and toilets. The staff do not give you towels for these facilities once you have checked out and there is no hairdryer.

There is no kids entertainment in the evening an during our stay there seemed to be no other entertainment other than a TV with the Euro football tournament. There is a football table and snooker table that can be used. There are also kids machines which give out toys after you spend €1 however be mindful that the toys which are given are not always suitable for boys and girls.

There is a boat crossing from the hotel on a daily basis at 10:30am(sharp) which takes you across to Portimao beach - I'm not sure if this costs as we did not use this facility and the boat returns daily around 5pm.

We stayed here on a B&B basis which was ok however the 5 nights we stayed here the breakfast was the same everyday. The was scrambled egg which was tasteless, bacon, sausage and garlic mushrooms as your hot buffet and then cold meats, cereals and croissants.pastries also available. There was fruit juice and coffee available from the machine. This needs to be improved as the choice was not great.

I had a cheese toastie served with crisps and a pint of lemonade and lime at lunchtime and this cost me €9.50.

nice stay and would recommend

The staff were friendly. They helped when we asked for things and they were helpful when booking taxi's.You may need to use them to get to places. The rooms were spacious and very clean. My biggest thanks goes to the reception staff ,who helped us to stay for the remainder of the holiday after our travel company went bust yesterday.Overall fantastic holiday!! Sad to be going home in two days!!
