Had only 24hrs and it was 5hr drive each way.... we had our doubts on the capacity to relax on such an agenda. Well.. within 3 hrs of arrival we had achieved bliss. After a glorious 8km walk through a national park that has so many hidden magical places, we found ourselves lying back on squatters chairs, looking out on wallabies and all that nature had to offer. A cold one in hand didn't hurt either.
The food for dinner that evening was delicious. Highly recommend!!!

We have just come back from a four night stay. I would definitely return. The staff are all friendly and are happy to answer any questions. If you have any requests or concerns they are sorted quickly and efficiently. The food at the restaurant is delicious and the service is quick. The beds are comfortable and rooms clean. We had a great stay and would recommend this place to anyone visiting Carnarvon Gorge.

We stayed multiple nights at the lodge and found it to be overall a bit rundown for the high fees paid. Verandah timbers were rotting with dangerous popping nails, ensuites haven't been upgraded since construction (50 yrs?!), dripping taps inside and outside, wheels on trolley carts jamming. The restaurant/meals were great - the chef and hospitality staff were really good, however our room booking was incorrect even after multiple confirmations before arriving. The shop was empty (literally empty shelves!) and generally there was a tired, fed-up feeling all round. For the expense of the rooms, it was disappointing to see absolutely no maintenance being done or interest upheld for paying guests.

Hi There,

Thank you for your feedback. I would just like to clarify that we are currently in the middle of renovating each cabins decking and bathrooms, unfortunately we are restricted as to when we can do this maintenance to not disturb our guests. I am glad you enjoyed your meals and our hospitality. I am disappointed to only hear about it now that your booking was incorrect, I have no knowledge of this, I would appreciate it if you could call or email me in regards to this so I can make amends. We are coming to the end of our season which does mean our souvenirs are also starting to sell out however, I have ordered new souvenirs and we do keep our shelves stocked with the souvenirs we currently have. Again, I appreciate the feedback and we are hoping to have ALL cabins completed by next season.
Thank you.

The tented accommodation is private with a really peaceful outlook to gums, kangaroos and lots of birds. A glass of wine on the verandah was great. The rooms are very comfortable with nice new furniture and a good bed. The ensuite bath is convenient and clean although basic. The restaurant has capital city quality food - absolutely delicious with great service. The walks are fabulous from the breathtaking Bluff views to the awe inspiring gorges. This is a great place to spend two days.

We stayed at Wilderness Lodge for two nights and enjoyed a fulfilling dinner in the restaurant each night. Breakfast was provided the night before and we were able to order a lunch pack to take on our full days walk.
The accommodation is safari lodge style, basic but very comfortable. Heaters and air conditioners are built in.
The staff were helpful. I recommend attending the talk given at 4pm each afternoon for the cost of a gold coin donation.
