We had a lovely time here - it's literally in the middle of nowhere, down a single track road for 15 miles from civilisation! We were surrounded by sheep and deer, and we even saw an eagle one evening.
The cottage was great, and Donna and her husband were very helpful. There were home-made scones and Skye Tablet to greet us on arrival, and everything was provided. There is no phone signal at all round here, but there is wifi in the house. (Also a pay phone!!)
There were some lovely walks from the house, and it's not far down to the harbour. (You can already see the sea after about 3 minutes of walking, but it takes longer to actually get there, all the way down the windy road.)
I arrived thinking we'd drive out somewhere each day - back up the road to Broadford and then on to wherever we wanted to go. But actually, the road from Broadford to Elgol is quite slow and a bit of pain, so we stayed put in Elgol for most of the time, and there was plenty to see and do there. (It was also nice to have a break from driving!)
