We stayed at Omaha Mansion for a week in August. There were 7 of us from a 4 year old to a 70+ year old and we all had such a wonderful time. Samuelle is a lovely host who took time out to answer all our questions, give us advice on places to visit, order us fresh baguettes and croissants every day, let the kids feed the goats and ducks and made us feel so welcome. We enjoyed the pool and sauna at the end of most days. There is so much history in the area that it was an educational trip for all of us. Plus the kids enjoyed the lovely beaches, all the excitement at Bayeux Adventure and visiting a real submarine and aquarium at Cite de la Mer. We thoroughly recommend a visit to Normandy and a stay at Le Clos de Blisse.
We stayed in this beautiful house in May 2018 - this house is outstanding. We choose to stay in this area to explore the D day landing beaches with our children (13 and 10). The location is perfect and we had a wonderful week exploring the beaches and museums. You will not be disappointed. We highly recommend going to the America cemetery and museum a must if you are staying here. We really loved having our croissants and bread delivered to the window each morning from the local bakery. The kids loved coming back after a day at the museums to get in the pool or go boating on the lake ! This house is a real treat, we can’t recommend this property highly enough !! Samuelle is lovely and very helpful. We will definitely be going back - so if you want some luxury book now !!!
Seldom does one find a property that is clean, well kept, comfortable and a joy to stay in.
We stayed at the Omaha Suite, the largest of three units within the property. The decor was a charming rural French with eclectic touches of antiquities spread around in well deserved spots. Collector items from WWII add to the touch of decor. A true delight to the eye.
The Omaha is more of a mansion size wise. Everything is large and comfortable. Designed for a big family to gather and entertain their days and nights away from the world yet accessible to all the touristic places.
Though I recommend this place highly, it is not for anyone with mobility issues, as the bedrooms are on the 2nd and 3rd floor. The ground floor does not provide a bedroom. With a Sauna and an enclosed swimming pool besides the serene silence short of birds chirping and a cow moo here and there, a side lake and a river flow ripple to delight your ears.
Samuella, the host, a wonderful lady makes sure your stay is the best. Fresh bread and croissant, if ordered, is delivered every morning to your window sill.
France as it should be.
Exploration of the Normandy area was the most memorable of our three week trip in large part due to the lovely accommodations at the Omaha mansion. The home is spacious, impeccably decorated with a very well equipped kitchen for those of us who like to cook. This was an ideal place to launch our daily exploration of the area. Rouen, Honfleur, Mont St Michele, Bayeux and D Day beaches are all an easy drive. Our favorite part of the day was returning to the quiet comfort of Omaha where we were greeted by Leo and Tio and relaxing with a nice glass of wine. Samuelle is an exceptional hostess who exudes warmth and hospitality and met our every need. if you like comfort, quiet, fresh baguettes and croissants delivered to your door daily, and gracious hospitality then treat yourself to this renovated gite. Our only regret is that we did not stay two weeks.
Our second stay here first time in Utah House and recently in Omaha Mansion.
Wonderful place, so calm and beautiful and attention to detail second to none. So lovely to see Samuelle and her children again, and made to feel so welcome. She advised us of local D-Day anniversary events in particular the military vehicle parade on our first evening in Isigney which was spectacular for my husband and son.
Loved the fresh croissants and bread delivered to the door each morning - such a nice touch to be able to order that.
You will not be disappointed with your stay here - the properties, the grounds and the lovely owner who takes great care over everything.
We have booked our stay for 2019 75th D-D Anniversary already!!
Omaha Mansion was a fantastic find in the Normandy countryside. The house was large, well kept, incredibly decorated, and in a perfect location for local activities. Samuelle was a charming hostess - great with communication and help. The house is fully furnished with everything you need and more. The grounds are lovely - enjoy the pond, hot tub, sauna and pool! Vouilly is an ideal spot for visiting the landing beaches, Bayeux, and Mont St. Michel - close to everything.
Our stay at Omaha Mansion has been outstanding in every single aspect.
This wonderful newly renovated building from 1790 played a huge role in our wonderful stay at the Normandy.
The gîte managed to be spacious yet really homey at the same time. Its interior is beautiful with so much love for the little details.
As originated we wanted to discover the historic sites of the surrounding we always couldn't wait to return "home" to spend as much time in the "Clos de Blisse" as possible.
The children were so happy to play soccer in the huge park or go (successfully) fishing in the big pond, we adults enjoyed using the sauna or cooking in the huge well-equipped kitchen, most evenings ended at the big wooden table that easily fit all 9 of us.
The mornings started with fresh Croissants, Pains au Chocolates and Baguettes that were delivered right to the window frame by a local bakery.
Last but not least a big shout-out to the charming house owner, Samuelle!
As soon as there were questions she answered them right away, she provided us with lists of local markets and gave us tips and recommendations when needed.
Thank you so much, Samuelle, we'd love to come back in the future, also to see your newest addition to the "Clos de Blisse", the swimming pool!
