The menu here gently evolves with interesting changes to old favourites. I had the belly of pork which was accompanied by an Italian style pork and fennel meat ball. It has become a fashion to do a meat two ways and this is an excellent example of how to do it well. Starters and desserts were very good and the service was excellent as always.

Our first time tonight to celebrate my husband's birthday. Absolutely blown away by the quality of food. We usually go to the Porthminster, St Ives for special occasions but never again. Much better menu/food/service and portion size was double that of Porthminster! Thank you so much! We will be back ! Please keep the chef happy!

It is incredibly difficult to describe The Grove. It is certainly different in terms of decor but let's focus on the food. Having eaten at many 'top' restaurants in London we spent the whole evening in disbelief at the exceptional quality of food by comparison with a dreadful meal and service we had had in Skylon London the week before. The Grove menu is balanced, the service just perfect (it is a restaurant where the staff clearly love what they do and are so friendly and happy and made us feel incredibly welcome). The portions are large and the food so fresh and beautifully presented. It was fish all the way for us and we would drive 3.5 hours back down to Cornwall just to eat there. We didn't want to leave!

We've become increasingly blessed for great food in the Helston/Porthleven area, but our meal last night demonstrated that Carl's food is the best around. Three courses for the three of us, we all chose differently just so we could sample the menu better. It was amazing! And lovely friendly staff too. You get the feeling they're not just in it for the summer holiday money, but that they also share in the love and joy put into the food.

A real gem of a restaurant. We tried it for the first time last week and had an excellent evening. The food was high quality and very tasty, the portions were large, the ambiance superb and the bill very reasonable for such a high quality experience. As many have said, the beef wellington has been perfected here. I would recommend the Grove to everyone who wants a quality meal out. We will be returning.
