we were staying in a air BNB in the village and by chance the Auberge was walking distance . We managed to get a table as the restaurant was otherwise full. Had the 42 euro menu which with the extra nibbles between courses was 7 courses . Food & service was excellent . Washed the venison down with a Vendee pinot noir which was perfect. Would go back again if I was in the area.

We'd have been very happy to spend several nights here, but we've always come for overnight stays - a very convenient halfway stage between St Malo and the Dordogne. The hotel is in a lovely site, bang next to the river Velluire, where swallows swoop like kingfishers - and it's very comfortable, quiet, clean and friendly. The restaurant (closed Mondays) is excellent. We'll be back, for sure - and warmly recommend the hotel meanwhile.

Room tip: We prefer rooms overlooking the river - on the ground floor of the annexe - with your own terrace space.

What a fantastic place.Take a collection of character buildings in an idyllic setting on the river ,spend a fortune (I would think) on transforming the interiors with style and good taste and add a superb restaurant and you have the Auberge de la Riviere.
We had a really friendly welcome and were taken to our beautifully converted room on the first floor with a fabulous view over the river.Fairly minimalist but had everything you needed.Comfortable bed and absolute silence during the night.
The restaurant is again a beautiful room.Tables are set well apart.Food was very very good and all served on really interesting crockery, once again reflecting the impeccable taste of the owners. The only minor niggle is that base menu is quite limited which could be a problem if you stay more than two nights.Going a la carte could prove expensive.
Great choice at breakfast, served in yet another stylish room.
Altogether a fabulous place to stay and very highly recommended.

We stayed there for a wedding that happened nearby: the hotel is very nicely located right by the river and the rooms offer a view on it, very peaceful and calm. The room in itself is nice and cosy, the staff was very nice and helpful. We also enjoyed a very good lunch there: service is great and food is amazing! Definitely recommended stop for those travelling in the area!

We really enjoyed our overnight stay here. The staff were so welcoming. Our room was warm and cosy, on the ground floor with river terrace. Whilst the decor was a little tired, the room was clean, the shower good and the bed very comfortable.

We dined in the restaurant and took the 43 euro menu of five courses. It was absolutely superb! Delicious.

We would stay here again and highly recommend.
