Overall this hotel is nice and clean, rooms were spacious and bathrooms very modern. Robes and toiletries provided and a lovely big bath, however the room we stayed in looked onto the road and we could hear a lot of noise from outside. Didn’t like the idea of checking in through the restaurant (probably cause I don’t pack light haha) but we were took straight to our room.

Breakfast was nice and let us mix the menu up to our taste, however sat ages with no service and had to actually go and ask for a menu when the restaurant was practically empty.
We also had an evening meal with our family in the restaurant which was lovely and on the plus side we could bring our dog too.

Main letdown was when we went to check out I was handed a bill of £75 of food and drinks which was not mine. When questioned the lady explained that there was some confusion with another room who had ate in the restaurant, so they just added it onto my room as they did not know who’s room it belonged to? Which I thought was quite unprofessional.

Overall I’d probably stay there again as it is a nice hotel which has potential to be better!

Nice hotel, staff not very welcoming but only two on duty..? They were stretched on a busy holiday weekend! Overall, the hotel was bit too pretentious for us. We would rather have had decent basic services rather thannmonogrammed towels, robes, water bottles and Molten & Brown toiletries! You may even find the hotel has allocated you a time for dinner because they have a “private dining” commitment, don’t bother trying to change it, the kitchen doesn’t seem able to cope and you’ll be left to your original time anyway! Restaurant menu wasn’t the best I’ve seen, but the quality of food was a big letdown! However, that said, breakfast was very very good. Just a final point... plonking a bath in the room doesn’t make it romantic... it just takes up valuable space in an otherwise lovely room.......and gathers dust! Our stay was disappointing and lacklustre to be honest, but not a lot of options available if you want to visit this area. Don't think we'll be in a rush to return sadly! :(

Decided to take a trip for the night just to get away after being cooped up because of snow. Picked the BQA due to the dog friendly policy.

Arrived at the hotel, nice and easy to find with plenty of parking. Lovely welcoming feel to the place, with the reception in a bustling bar area.

Check-in was quick and easy, before being shown to the room. Lovely room with amazing bathroom. Clean, tidy, comfy, everything you need. Nice touch of a few dog treats and a bed for our pooch.

Had dinner at the hotel, again dogs allowed provided you eat in the bar area. Not a problem, with nice tables and comfy seating. Dogs just aren't allowed in the main restaurant area.

Dinner was superb, drinks reasonably priced. Then a short walk back to the room for a sleep.

Absolutely loved the place and would recommend to anyone.

Thanks guys.

Visited here whilst staying at another hotel close by for dinner the hotel itself has a lovely welcoming feeling and is situated in the heart of Thornhill which has a few nice shops and an excellent cafe/ gift shop. Staff are very nice and attentive there is a good choice of food on the menu and the food was excellent. We chose smoked salmon starter lovely quality served with tasty bread followed by steak and chips the steak was very tasty and super soft we finished the meal with the brownie sundae would definitely recommend eating here and if we visited the area again we would look into staying as well as they accept dogs in the rooms
