Having visited Istanbul Grill in the past we wanted to try out Turquoise Grill as it comes highly recommended.
Our waiter was very friendly and found us a window seat and took our drinks orders immediately. We did notice that the table hadn't been fully laid out but this didn't bother us.
The menu is fantastic with lots of options for even the fussiest of eaters.
We had the karides guvec for starters which was packed full of flavour but appeared to be made using frozen prawns which were so minute it was hard to actually find them! The cheesy garlic bread was really nice on ciabatta bread & I highly recommend it.
The köfte mains was a bit of a let down. Living in Turkey I'm used to authentic köfte and it was definitely lacking in seasoning and flavour. The portion size and presentation was very good however.
In my personal opinion Turquoise is more of an upmarket café as opposed to a restaurant, however the prices reflect that of a restaurant and I didn't feel we got what we paid for. Sat by the door we also encountered several group parties arriving at once who were gathered close by to our table whilst they waited to be seated.
Service was rushed - we were in and out within 45 minutes, there was less than 10 minutes between our starters being cleared and our mains arriving. Not once did any member of staff check everything was ok.
