Zamek Ratmerice and its unique surroundings are for sure the best you can find it this low populated area. The chateaux it self has a hearth that beets throughout the whole 10 acres of land and hundredths of trees with two of the tallest Sequoia trees in the Czech Republic. The trees were brought here by the family Chodek that bought the chateaux in the 18th century. Now they rise above the central Bohemian region with height above fifty meters!
The hotel it self is a piece of art. The owner must have put so much energy and effort in to realizing this old zámek in to what it is now. We slept on the second floor with a view on the the garden fountain and the Sequoia trees. The beds are the best we ever slept in in a hotel. You feel like a king and queen in these beds. The bathroom facilities are well equipped and the cosmetics provided are top quality. TV and Internet worked great. The staff is friendly and professional. You can see that this place just opened few months ago and they are doing their best to satisfy their customers. We went and used their sauna and Jacuzzi spa. It was great relax followed by a walk through the park. We saw that the outside swimming pool is about to be finished and that there is a beautiful outdoor sports facility with a bar and a patio. Unfortunately the bar was not open, probably due to the early autumn weather. I wrote another review for the Sequoia Restaurant it self. Its worth a visit even though you will not sleep in the chateaux.
After all, we had a great relaxed weekend with nothing but positive memories.
We will definitely be back soon.
Thank you!

The hotel is very newly built. We tried their wellness center privately for an hour. It was nicely equipped. The room was very spacious. We were there with our daughter (8 months old) and took our own bed with us. The room has no problem to put it. The bed and blankets were very comfortable. But there is no signal of cell phones in the hotel due to the thick walls. So when we went to the wellness, we asked the reception to keep the monitor of our baby. They are quite helpful.

Unfortunately, the restaurant experience was not that pleasant. We asked for the baby high chair, which they do have a better one than other restaurants. However it's soooo dirty. Pasta and bread everywhere. The waiter who brought us the chair just slightly cleaned the bread with his hand and left. I have to clean the whole chair by myself. Then we gave the feedback to a waitress who came later to serve our drinks. She didn't even say sorry just said "Oh that's so horrible"... We waited there for another 15-20 mins for them to come to take our order, no one showed up. My husband went to the bar and ordered by himself... The waitress was afraid to come again to us. And we were told by another waiter that she is newly hired summer intern... Although the service sucks, we did enjoy the food there. We had lambs for dinner, which was amazingly cooked. If you ever go there try the lamb knuckle, one of the best we had in years.
