A picturesque drive along country country roads just past the fringe suburbs in the northeast of Melbourne leads to this small-town old-style pub. I went there to with a group of approximately 40 ppl to celebrate a friend's birthday.
There is a decent sized dining room, plus an enclosed balcony area which we had booked, and more tables in a terraced outdoor area which would have to count as one of the best beer gardens i have encountered. A converted shipping container at the far end of the outdoor area is presumably the stage used when they have bands playing.
While i was somewhat underwhelmed by the meal that i was served (the roast of the day) the other meals looked, and by all reports tasted, great. The servings, including from the children's menu, were large. Next time i'll skip the roast & try a parma
