Delphi Lodge is truly an experience. It's like visiting an old aristocratic estate and being one of the guest of honors. The grounds are breathtaking and if you can't relax here and feel as if you stepped back in time, I don't know where you can. The dinners are extra but so worth the money. Passed canapés are served in a beautiful common room with a roaring fire and a honor bar. You just help yourself to beer, wine or a mixed drink and then jot it down in a book. Dinner is served at a beautiful dining room table lit with candles and fresh flowers. Michael, the general manager, introduces everyone and keeps the conversation lively and filled with history. By the end of our two days here, I felt like I was saying good bye to friends. Michael and the staff at Delphi Lodge make you feel as if you were not just a customer, but a friend that they care about. All in all, this was by far one of the most special places I have ever stayed! Hopefully, we will be back!!

My wife and I spent a delightful two days at this idyllic Irish fishing lodge. We all ate together at Breakfast and Dinner so there were about twenty nor so people around the beautiful dining table. Pascal, the Chef, produced the most excellent food and although there was no choice you could go to the kitchen and ask Pascal if it were possible to have something different if you did not fancy the set menu. At Dinner the general manager, Michael Wade, would introduce all the guests in turn giving their names and where they came from. My wife was the cook at Delphi Lodge in 1965 so he had a lot to say!The rooms were large and excellently appointed. There was an honesty bar in the drawing room and one entered whatever one had in "the booze book" as legibly as the circumstances allowed. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. It epitomizes Irish hospitality at its very best.

We had a delightful one night stay at Adelphi Lodge. With all the history of this country manor it is a reminder of good and bad times in County Mayo. We were welcomed with coffee and tea in the library before settling in our spacious rooms. Before dinner we gathered in the sitting room for drinks and canapés and had the opportunity to meet our fellow guests. There were 19 for the sit down dinner, including our host, Michael, who kept everyone involved in lively conversation. My husband was able to catch a sizable salmon during a morning of fishing along the river and my adult daughter and I enjoyed a peaceful hike along a nearby country lane bordered by sheep farms.

It is not so easy for me to describe the Delphi Lodge with only a few words. But I try
.
If you have booked for a longer trip more Hotels, as we have done, who are in fact only recources and tools to make your journey well and you arriving at Delpfi Lodge you gonna be (positif) confuse because you can only compared with your stay at your own House. Stay in Delphi Lodge, and you forget that you are traveling.far from home. The Lodge is a mix of Irisch History and Ralph Lauren interior and well known and visit by international Fishers sportsmen, but also now recommended by us for classic car drivers who visiting Ireland. The location and environment is top! Also the concept of wining and dining is complete different compared with Hotels. You are not dining anonymouse in one of other corner and be served by robots, but you sharing together with all the other guests a big dining table in Castle style with a lot of other nice, friendly and interesting stylish people. Now the food..!! You are in Ireland but the chef is French! The menu/food is on Michelin level and was our best dinner in Ireland! The first evening (5 courses) we had a so big Lobster that I possible had can crossing the atlantic on his back. Compliment to the chef/cuisine ! After Dinner you can have your drinks in the Library near the fireplace and listen about the adventures from other guests and Fishermen who catch Moby Dick :) Further we meet also the owners and they charming family who were in transit visit and had a wonderful final 3 nights in Ireland. Many thanks, also to the Staff our best regards. Hope to see you again! Lovely regards. Rob,Sandra and Manfred

We have stayed in lodges all over the world. One of our favorite is the Delphi Lodge. It is a true country house, steeped in history and tradition. It is not like staying in an elegant but cold hotel. Each night you feel as if you are a guest in a country estate. The building has been renovated over the years so amenities are modern but at the same time, the architecture and decor of the house has remained true to its period. The grounds are lovely. In most hotels you are isolated at your dinner table or breakfast table. Although you are with other guests, you are still alone. This country manor house is unique in that you actually meet the guests, sit with them in common areas, enjoy before and after dinner specially prepared foods by the chef. The manager knows every guest by name and introduces the guests to each other. We stay year after year for a full week. We love to fish and the fly fishing is fantastic. The guides are excellent. This lodge was originally a fishing/hunting lodge. It retains this function as well as being a welcoming guest house for travelers. Its fishing, not catching, so even when the fish aren't biting, you can't help but be in awe of the fact that you are standing in one of the most beautiful valleys in the world. The location is perfect for day tours of Connemara. The coast and Clare Island, the Fiords and the breathtaking scenery of Connemara are all around you. We travel from islands in the Pacific every year to stay at the Delphi Lodge. I think we will be extending our stay this next year. It is like staying at our private lodge after three seasons at Delphi. How could we possibly not return? Oh....and the food....I almost forgot.....it is chef prepared and excellent. This is a place for sportsmen and women, families, and couples......it is a true country house that is welcoming to all. So whether you are traveling alone, with a small family or large group, this country house is perfect. When you see a child catch his or her first fish (catch and release) and the child is beaming with accomplishment, and you see a guide who is looking at the child with real joy at the child's happiness, you know you are in the right place. You find yourself feeling the excitement of the experiences of all the guests.
