This review relates to the kiosk, not the main restaurant.

Two coffees ordered, one small latte and one flat white. Goodness only knows what coffee is used or what quantity is put in each cup, but these ‘coffees’ were possibly the weakest ever. Truly terrible.
Great location and will return , as I often do, but I will stick to bottled drinks .

Wandering through Nielsen Park we decided to stop for some refreshments at The Nielsen.

The staff were very attentive and our order was taken very quickly and arrived soon after. However, they seemed a bit offended that only Mrs FB2000 was ordering any food, but on the hot day I was happy with a pot of tea. The tea and flat white were both 4.50 AUD

Mrs FB2000 ordered 6 Oysters ( 24 AUD ) but she was disappointed with them, and described them as the worst Oysters she ate during our stay in Sydney.

However, it was relaxing to sit in the shade on the terrace and watch the happenings in the water. Location and staff are worth 5 stars, but the food only 3 stars

After a 40 minute wait for a takeaway order we were given terrible coffee, and bacon and egg rolls with raw bacon. On inspection it became clear that they hadn’t been anywhere near a grill, which is particularly concerning given my wife (who placed the order) is 8 months pregnant. I’m currently considering a report to the health department. Avoid.

We had coffee and icecream from the Cafe next door and sat outside in a shady spot before walking along the beautiful beach and exploring the area. It's an absolutely fabulous location with such a beautifully clean beach (and no broken glass on the beach like Watsons Bay to the right of the wharf). We had a light lunch and a lovely cold beer which went down a treat after our walk around the coast where there are fabulous views of the city and Shark Island.
The absolute best part of our dining experience at The Nielsen was this FABULOUS dessert.
The staff at The Nielsen were very friendly and provided good service.

I used to live in Syndey in the 90’s and this was and is one of my fav beaches because it’s on the harbour and gorgeous for swimming and not touristy at all. This is a lovely place for lunch with light fare and of course a bottle of Rosé! We Uber from the hotel and had the best day soaking up the Syndey Harbour and a delicious salad and fish at this place.
