“Another fantastic stay at Rose Cottage!”

We returned to Rose Cottage in October for the third time - it just gets better every time! The house is beautifully maintained and the gardens perfect in the autumn sunshine. It was great to be able to walk out of the front door and walk for miles in beautiful countryside! We discovered lots of new places after having been to lots of the Normandy beaches last time - Grandcamp sur Maisy is a definite find! You can have a coffee or lunch on the way in the market town of Isigny and then on to Grandcamp on the coast where you can watch the fishermen bring the catch in and then buy your fish for dinner on the quayside. Definitely try the Calais sole!! Its was amazing and so fresh straight from the boat. Alternatively head to Grandcamp via Le Molay and a walk in the huge forest at Cerisy (and the market on a Thursday morning). Thanks again to David and Debbie for their hospitality - you always know if there was a problem with anything they would sort it instantly which is so reassuring when you're abroad (it helps they speak great French!). Already booked Rose Cottage again for May before we even got home - it's fab!

“Great centrally located country cottage!?,”
Reviewed May 21, 2018 for a stay in April 2018

We stayed here for 3 weeks in late April-mid May and we had a great time. We went to France with the intention of visiting as many D-Day historical sites as possible and Rose Cottage was perfect for our needs. It is centrally located between all the D-Day landing sites and museums, although you need to tour the Normandy countryside as well as it has numerous small villages and memorials and monuments all around and within a short drive. The cottage is well equipped and in a country farm setting away from all the city noises but the towns are nearby when you need to shop for goods. The owners David & Debbie were easy to work with and a pleasure to do business with. Hopefully we will visit again in the near future!

Reviewed December 13, 2017 for a stay in August 2017

I stayed here with my family for 1 week, great house with everything you would need, very close to the nearest town but far enough away to enjoy lazy afternoons.
Great location for all the Beaches and very close to the lovely town of Saint Lo.

I would recommend this if you want piece and relaxation.

“Absolutely perfect country cottage”
Reviewed August 16, 2017 for a stay in July 2017

The location of Rose Cottage is amazing, the Normandy landing beaches and historical DDay battlegrounds are all within easy distance. The Rose Cottage is perfect as a base to explore the surrounding areas and take in the beautiful countryside. This is a great family holiday home with all the comforts you require. We enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a tranquil environment.

“Rose Cottage Everthing Promised By David and Debbie and Even More !!”
Reviewed February 29, 2016 for a stay in November 2015

Let me firstly say this something I would not ordinarily do to leave a review on a holiday or any other event, but I would consider it a miss justice not to thank David and Debbie for delivering everything it say's on the TIN !!!

After recently returning from our second visit to Rose Cottage the first being a much needed do nothing re-charge the batteries sort of holiday and our more recent lets go and discover everywhere we can we weren't disappointed on either occasion. The first speaks for it's self but this time we found the cottage to be a superb base for daily adventures to all of the D Day sites and the Normandy coastline picking our own destinations and lots of others we read about in the books and leaflets left by David and Debbie. They are all easy venue's within the day without any early morning starts the Beaches, Bayeux many morning markets Carentan is a must and also the fish market at Grand Camp Maisy and even Mont Saint Michel is an easy day out, returning to a friendly couple of beers at the Au Fil de l'Eau in Saint Fromond before returning home for a bar-b-que and a bit of RED.

If a bit of exercise is more your bag you are minutes away from the river Vire which has a cycle path and good walking all the way south to St Lo and north to Carentan, we discovered on a walk from Saint Fromond on the canal De Vire the ruined chateau which is the home to the migrating Storks nesting there in March every year but even when they are not resident the nest's themselves are a site to behold.

In finishing as I said earlier and you can see from other reviews the cottage is superbly appointed and meets all and more of what is promised so much so we have booked again to stay in September this year.
