Description: Where are we? Welcome to The Bull Inn in the peaceful village of Hinton. which lies only 20 minutes from the centres of both Bath and Bristol and less than 5 minutes away from Junction 18 of the M4. About The Bull This ancient stone built building dates back to the 17th century. In its time it has been an Inn, a farm and a dairy. Like all buildings of this age it also has it's fair share of ghosts. Be always on the lookout for the lady in grey! About the food We Love to serve Traditional British Pub food and we take great pride in making the dishes the best they can be and still great value for money! We also have a Specials board which changes weekly and can be a real treat! We believe that to achieve great food you only need to look on your doorstep. So with that in mind we have chosen where possible to source our ingredients from local suppliers who share the same passion for quality as we do. Where possible we use our home grown seasonal fruit, herbs and vegetables from our own allotment to the rear of the pub. Our friendly and cheeky gardener Rockie does an incredible job for us and keeps everything in order - if you have a spare minute pop round to have a look or a chat, if only to give him a chance for a breather. Our butchers are Barlett and Sons of Bath and Bristol Meat Trader, they both deal in locally sourced, succulent, farm assured meats ensuring their products are of the best quality. All of their meat is prepared using traditional butcher methods and they mature their beef for over 21 days to ensure we get the most tender and succulent steak possible. As well as providing lamb, pork and bacon they also manufacture their own sausages on the premises providing us with the best quality sausages in the area. Our Fishmonger Wing of St. Mawes(Cornwall) is a small family run company with over 30years experience. We source all our fish from mussels, cod, scallops, plaice, sole, prawns and lobsters from Wing daily. They care passionately about sustainable sourcing and deliver to us every night after the fish is caught in the morning. Our eggs are from our 18 lovely Hens which can be found to the rear of the pub, they are lovely characters and lay some exceptional eggs for our Ham, Egg and Chips! When we can't source produce from our garden we use A-DAVID of Bristol which has over 50 years experience. They care as passionately as us about the provenance and locality of produce and over the years has amassed a large number of local growers who are incredibly passionate and dedicated to what they do. We use Marshfield Farm ice cream which is truly amazing luxury ice cream and sorbet. They are just 5minutes up the road so you can't get more local than that. We love our little customers just as much as our fully grown ones! So with that in mind we have created a children's menu that is full of tasty dishes just like the main menu. If your child would like something that's not on the menu please just ask and we will do our very best to do it for you! How lucky we are to have such great local suppliers and producers to share with you. We hope you will think our efforts to source the best produce is worthwhile. About the beer As a Wadworth pub we serve all the usual brews, including 6X, Henry's and we always have a guest on which changes weekly. We also stock draught Heineken, Amstel, Thatchers Gold, Stowford Press and Corvus Stout. About the wine We have a substantial selection of wines by the glass. If you are uncertain of your choice please ask the bar staff for a sample taste. We also have a quality range of classical wines which are available by the bottle. Allergies Some foods & ingredients can cause an allergic reaction. If you suffer from a food allergy, please inform a member of staff.

Visited with a group of friends on a Sunday (late) lunchtime.
The staff from the moment we arrived were very attentive.
A lot of us ordered the roast beef (not overly cheap at £14.95)
It was however cooked to perfection.
Our only criticism (as a group) was that additional vegetables were not brought out with the meal.
We were served some vegetables on our plate and that was it.
We all agreed that we would have liked to have had some more.
The vegetables that were served however were very nice. The braised red cabbage being particularly tasty.
The desserts were very nice and resonably priced.
I had the cheese board for dessert, it was very nice with a good choice of biscuits, but at £10 for 3 choices of cheese I did find it expensive for what it was
Overall, a very pleasant meal with nice staff and a nice atmosphere.

We’ve recently had a birthday meal here, with 8 adults and 4 children. We had a variety of meals, all of which were cooked perfectly and tasted delicious. Everything was freshly cooked. Only thing is we could have done with a few more fries with the burger!
Saturday is extremely busy so be prepared to wait. Also, order the desserts when ordering the mains as ours were cooked from fresh. Thankfully we weren’t in any rush. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
We will definitely be going back there.
Fantastic. Thank you.

One of our favourite places to lunch! Really good food and pleasant staff. Belly Pork bites fantastic as are the faggots, whilst there is always a good selection of specials and puddings.

We used to come here a lot but haven't been for a while, not sure why..
We booked a table here from r Sunday lunch yesterday, as a party of 8 (4 kids and 4 adults). I asked for us to sit in the bar as we have always enjoyed the buzz of the bar area, that said the restaurant side looked lovelier than I remembered so that are would have been just as nice.
Our roasts were enjoyed by all of us, the quality of the meat and vegetables shines through and We appreciate the way the vegetables were cooked and seasoned just as much as the meat. We took the time to wander around the veg patch and to see the pigs, who were enjoying some apples.
I would definately return as this is in my top three favourite pubs for a roast, although this is the most local for us!
The staff were friendly, efficient and helpful, I do hope they passed on our compliments to the chef as the braised cabbage was just delicious.
This is not a cheap roast at £13.95 for an adult BUT this is a quality roast and I enjoyed it ALOT! I would much rather this calibre of roast than a plate piled high with bland veggies and meat of unknown origin...
The only thing I would say is that £6 for the halloumi fries was a little steep, as I think there were only 6 small pieces, that's said they were very nice.
Thank you, and I'm sure we will be back soon.

I have passed this pub many, many times on the way to and from London and never stopped. What a fool! This place is brilliant! Yes, that good!
I visited the Bill at Hinton recently with my wife and another couple. It's just below the Cotswold escarpment, and has good parking and a lovely garden. The rooms are well fitted out with a rustic theme, smacking at originality (it is)!
So... Food excellent, service polite and attentive. So comfortable with a lovely ambiance. I totally recommend the Bull at Hinton to anyone who wants a lovely, well served meal in great surroundings. Pity I did not stop there before! I will return!
