Booked Yagiz to celebrate our wedding anniversary - we were not disappointed!
The fitout is great, beautiful mood lighting which created wonderfull patterns through your wine glass. Lovely “rough” finish on walls, little nooks for candles and NO loud background music, in fact no music at all just the hum of contented diners.
Our waiter explained that she had only been in Australia for 3 months. She was great, very helpful but not intrusive and her knowledge of Turkish food and wines made for a memorable evening.
We opted for the tasting menu and dined remarkably well.
Our favourite was calamari stuffed with cheese and farro but really every dish surpassed expectations. Lovely smokey flavours, grill marks, some heat but, above all, exquisite flavours and textures.
5 savoury dishes and finished off with gorgeous baklava with praline icecream.
Oh, and the house baked sourdough is delicious - and plentiful!
We Opted for matched wines as we were keen to sample a very inventive wine list which included Turkish wines. Glad we did, all good and the Turkish wines, one rose and two reds, were excellent.
Loved our celebration, everything was wonderful and at a very reasonable price.
Thanks so much Yagiz, we will be back to try some more dishes.
