It's a great short and fairly easy hike to the falls and surrounding area - definitely worth checking out.

Was still raging even in -30C temperature, some nice ice features had formed. Car park was not cleared of snow so had to park on side of road, but trail had been walked so was fairly compacted to walk on.

Bucket List: Visit every Provincial Park in Ontario. This one was a blast from the past. We spent a few years living up in this area running a resort. Whenever we had time off and means of transportation we would come to Ragged Falls. It looks pretty much the way we remembered it but a bit busier and some fencing up for safety (late 80's early 90's didn't worry about that yet...). It was beautiful!

Waterfallsofontario.com rates Ragged Falls 4/5, "large waterfall" with moderate access. All true!

You can get a 2 hour pass which is cheap but don't... spend more time! If you get a day pass you can use it at the other provincial parks too (and vice versa... so if you're in Algonquin it's just a short drive from the West gate).

At the top of the falls you can gain close access and tremendous views from a multitude of levels and angles. It is beautiful to see, lovely to listen to and the vibes here are really sweet. This is one of the nice places =)

It can get busy but there are quiet times. The trail continues along the river from the top of the falls although most visitors don't explore very far. Watch your footing... the entire time: It can be wet which makes the rocks and roots slippery, be careful! If you have kids then explain the dangers and watch them closely. Be sensitive to the health of the trail as well, unfortunately the heavy traffic through high season means this little piece of paradise get trampled. It's really cool to take clean up garbage and leave a place nicer than when you came, be a trail hero =)

The parking lot is great except when it's busy when it's over capacity! Don't ruin the vibes of this spot in the lot =)

The falls are amazing, just go there before you go to Algonquin Park! The climb is not that hard and the distance is very short. Make sure to walk a little further if you reach the fences, because you can get on some rocks on top of the waterfall!
