Fine hotel just on the expensive side but then everything is in Denmark. Usually stay here when working in the area. Nice walk around the lake also. Not a lot in holbaek apart from a pub that's quite smokey and a good steak house above it. Both a 10min walk from the hotel.

Very beautiful location, silent, big room. Maybe it was silent because there were not too many travellers during the night we were there. Little bit pricey but hey, there is not too many hotels in Holbaek. Somehow the hotel feels kind of tired...
The breakfast was not so good what you could expect for the room price. Even though we were quite early, some things was already finished...

Exellent and beutiful location by the lake. The hotel has large rooms and the staff is eficient and helpful. Sadly the hotel seems old in a tired way. No restaurant open when we stayed there, but the reception helped us getting a meal anyway. There were no fitness center that we saw...?

Room Tip: Get a room with a lakeview!

We stayed at the Hotel Strandparken for 3 nights over Christmas. The hotel is in a lovely setting next to the fjord in Holbaek and was quiet and peaceful.

Based on the price we paid I would rate the hotel as average. Our family room was a reasonable size but a little old fashioned in style with 2 single beds pushed together and a bunk bed for the children. The bed was unfortunately quite soft and rather uncomfortable. The bathroom was very small with a shower - functional but rather basic and no shower curtain. The room had a small wardrobe, kettle and TV. No keys required for entry to both the hotel and guest rooms, just a 4 digit number. Due to the holiday period reception was only open from 9:00 to 11:00 and the rooms were not made up during our stay.

Breakfast was OK but the dining room lacked attention to detail and there were no staff. No place settings were laid out and the cutlery was not cleaned properly. I got the feeling they could not really be bothered because it was Christmas and there were only a couple of guests at the hotel. The quality of the food was acceptable but not great and the hot food was not very hot. When you only have a couple of guests at the hotel it would have been easier to cook individual breakfasts on request. This would have generated a much better customer experience and the Chef was sitting at the reception desk not really doing that much anyway.

The hotel is conveniently located, 10 minutes walk from the station and town centre with several large supermarkets close by. There is a great running route around the end of the fjord if you turn left when facing the water and follow the track.

The hotel was fine for our short stay but could be fantastic with better attention to detail and more refinement

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the fjord to get a great view.
