We were given a downstairs room which was small, dark, overlooked by the road and had no sea/beach view, yet this cost the same as the upstairs room which had a generous verandah and a sea view. The furnishings were old and very tired, and one was forced to keep the blinds drawn in order to preserve privacy. The floor was dark slate and dark concrete and one was very aware of the movement in the room above. One had to book the choice of breakfast on arrival by ticking a list and leaving it on a table. We had use of a small kitchen/lounge which in normal circumstances would be shared with guests in an adjacent room (fortunately not occupied). Here, one could not sit at the table easily because it was laid for breakfast for the following morning, and the small sofas were so low that it was more or less impossible to get out of them without help! Despite there being a fridge and a supply of complimentary beverages the milk was little tubs of "pretend" milk and the instant coffee was poor. The breakfast was fine although it came in stages from upstairs. There were plastic chairs that one could place outside and, surprisingly there were beach towels and an umbrella for use on the beach. It was a disappointing experience.
