Initially I was not happy to see the out-of-hand development of what used to be our quiet corner of Kamala Beach, and now two years later things have only got worse!
HQ is now sandwiched between Cafe Del Mar (with loud boom, boom music!) on the south side and construction of the half-completed Intercontinental Hotel.
Consequently, we had two lots of music throughout our meal plus the jackhammer from the building site next door. Totally uncomfortable to say the least. There was just us and one other table of two in the entire place! Sad for a Friday night. We left as soon as we finished our dinner around 8pm.
The food was acceptable, although my Asian Lamb Curry was too fatty.
The staff were apologetic, and very attentive!
It’s a special spot and as much as I’m a fan of Twin Palms and GM Olivier Gibaud, I cannot recommend HQ at this point in time.
