We were staying at Nalagarh Fort and from there we started our trip to the amazingly sacred and powerful Naina Devi!
The road was so good… the way to Anandpur Sahib was almost flawless… and clean. Then we started climbing towards the hill that housed the temple. And then we stopped as we saw a ropeway! The ropeway took us right on top of the hill almost climbing a thousand feet in minutes!
We reached the base of the temple town that worked around the temple! And we thought we had arrived but we actually hadn’t! There were almost 130 steps to climb before we were at levels with the temple!
Some say this temple is over a few thousand years old and it just might be! It is definitely one of the Shakti Peeth! Was really blessed to get an opportunity to pay our obeisance here!
Exhausted we walked down the steps once more… Took the cable and landed next to our car… Didn’t have the energy to go to Bhakra Nangal Dam but nevertheless… we did think we will go there. Not now, another time!
There are monkeys everywhere – just beware that you don’t carry any eatables – even packaged chips is something the monkeys enjoy! Beware!
There is no fee for entering the temple - however there is a fee for the ropeway...
