Off the Beaton track we came across this place. Being in Cornwall and with a name such as it is, it'll be rude not to go in. A very warm welcome from the landlord . Bar food reasonable price and plenty of it. Decor is a bit stuck in the 80's but interesting people / local to talk to. And it's dog friendly. So good, we went back for a second visit the same holiday

We have stayed here a number of times and have never been disappointed. The location is very convenient for north Cornwall and there are off road walks towards the coast. There is a choice of standard and superior rooms, both of which are well appointed with good en-suite facilities. There are also self catering apartments which are also very good. There is a large car park. Dogs are welcome. The breakfasts are excellent with vegetarians catered for. There is a good range of beers in the bar and Adrian, Ryan, Joe and the rest of the staff are very welcoming and friendly. What more could you ask for?

This is our second stay at the Poldark Inn, the standard double room was newly decorated and clean, large bathroom with good supply of toiletries and thick towels. The communal areas are quite dated and could do with a re-dec. The breakfast was first class, best poached egg I have ever had. The staff are very helpful and friendly. As a base to explore Cornwall the Poldark Inn is first class.

Room tip: Ask to see room first, as all are different

Stayed here when visiting Cornwall for the weekend. It's clean but very dated and could do with some TLC, rooms harp back to the 1980's , artex ceilings, coloured bedlinen and miniscule towels. We did sleep ok as bed was comfortable, no hooks any where to hang towels etc in bathroom and no heating in bathroom either!

Breakfast next moring was adequate the usual cereals, juices etc but tastesless bacon and sausages, over cooked eggs. The worst thing was the toast all of the pre sliced variety and cheap plastic pot marmalade and jams. Given that Cornwall is briming over with very good local products there is no excuse for this.

The place served it's purpose, but would not go back again.

A Great family run hotel/inn and some 4 star hotels I have stayed at should have lessons from the Poldark Inn in customer care. Food was always hot and good portions, very quick to be served and nothing was an effort for the staff. Perhaps a couple of specials to add to the menu would be a good idea?
