We stayed here in july. After a warm welcome by Luciana we felt immediately at home. The children enjoyed the swimmingpool (with a great view!) and all the animals. They liked to go to the donkeys, chickens, horses and both the dogs. Luciana gave us a lot of touristic tips; she knows a lot about the Sabina and Rome. We will certainly return to this beautiful villa.

We stayed the second week of May with a group of ten art students from Stonehill College to paint a fresco at the villa. At first we worried that going from Rome to the country-side would dissapoint the students. We could not have been more wrong. The accomadations were spread through several delightful guest houses and Luciana and her staff went out of their way to share the charm Sabina. We could not have had such consideration any where else. It will be the highlight of their academic year.

This was by far the most memorable experience we have had in 8 trips to Italy. The Sabina area really is unique. Probably what Tuscany was like 30 years ago. Just a short few hours from Rome and you are deep in rural Italy. The roads are bumpy, narrow and winding, but the views are breath-taking. Villa Vallerosa is absolutely gorgeous with its panoramas and landscaping. Our room was on the second floor with amazing decor. You really feel like you have stepped back in time. And then there is Luciana and Luigi. They are true ambssadors for Italy. The most giving and fun couple that are open to share their lives. If you are as fortunate as we were, you might get a sample of Luciana's cooking too...Wow. Their recommendations for restaurants were perfect. We were even lucky to have Luciana show us the neighboring towns and old ruins. We could stay there forever. Really.

Returned to Villa Vallerosa for the third time, bow on a working retreat with an international team of scholars for some heavy duty reflection, discussion, and writing. Coming here was the best decision the working group of seven professors made. The location is ideal in its peacefulness, the surrounding landscape is magnificent, and the care with which the hosts of Villa Vallerosa received us and treated us for four days has been superb. The service is friendly and supportive, the cuisine was exquisite for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and the grounds of the fifteen-acre farm dotted with olive trees and populated by a number of animals in barns, pens, and paddocks inspire tranquility and reflection. And the new wine from the Villa Vallerosa grapes, tapped, appropriately, on St. Martin's Day, added to the inspiration, eloquence, and camaraderie of the group. Highly recommended.

Villa Valerosa is a very quite place to relax, to leave all one's cares behind and to let the eyes enjoy panoramic views of the Sabina Mountains... Decide to spend the day on the new build, non-chlor pool looking at a fantastic scenery, take a walk around the village or whatever. For any tour around the area ask Luciana for advise. She and Luigi are very friendly people, good English speaking and all her recommendations were to go and what to see were 100% worth. The same applies to the restaurant recommendations. Once there, go to OrtoBio (restaurant), near Poggio Mirteto. Although Selci is rather small, grocery store, bakery (go to La Maddia) and gas station are available.
