“Brilliant villa”
Reviewed January 4, 2016 for a stay in December 2015

7 of us stayed in this beautiful villa. We had so much space and the service was fantastic. We couldn't have been made to feel more welcome if we had tried. Gayathri and Priyantha were so helpful and Priyantha made delicious food.
I would recommend this rental to anyone looking for a beautiful spot just outside of Mirissa.

“perfect garden retreat”

I stayed 12 nights at Singha Paya. I am really glad I did.
Mirrisa is not a place I would like to stay but the beach there is very nice. From Singha Paya I, either walked, took a very short bus ride or sometimes took a Tuk Tuk to Mirrisa.
It was always a relief to be back in the sanctuary that Singha Paya's private garden offers.
I travelled also to Galle and Matara and found that it was really easy to take the bus from the main road to anywhere I chose.
The temple Thalaramba was also a real treat, the monks and locals all being very friendly.
Singha Paya is very much away from any hustle and bustle in a quiet neighbourhood.
If you want to relax and read, meditate or just use the house as a base camp for exploring the south- then I can highly recommend the experience.
Gaya and Prianthe were very welcoming and looked after me well.
Thank you

“Peaceful colonial house in a delightful garden on the outskirts of Merrissa”

The staff were very friendly and helpful and ensured from the beginning that we had all we needed. They arranged a local tuc tuc to look after us and also arranged a very enjoyable whale watching trip. (5 whales) The walled garden was delightful , a perfect Oasis from the bustle of Merrissa.- a lovely space in which to sit and reflect. We stayed in the main house which has high ceilings with a natural breeze blowing through. The bed was a king size four poster and very comfortable and it was great to have a HOT water shower..Breakfasts were plentiful with a choice of western or Sri Lankan (string hoppers). We ate most other meals in Merrissa but enjoyed a rice and fish curry cooked at the house.

“Feel like in my home.”
Reviewed November 10, 2014 for a stay in October 2014

I have spent a really nice time.
Since I have arrived I felt comfortable and welcome.
I arrived and Gatary, Prionte and Kivi received me with a tea and a big smile.
They are always willing to help you.
I sleep in the new guest house. Brand new. Confortable.
I was able to cook my breakfast and have it in a beautiful garden, before I went out to visit the country side, the beaches and the nice villes.
And when I wanted to relax, Prionte make it for me. He is a great chef.

I recommend Jay. Jay is a Tuc Tuc driver.
He will be always open to take you everywhere with a smile and stoping everywhere for you !

Internet is working well.
Hot shower is also niceeeeeeeeeeeee :)
but for me the most important is that i could feel as home.

“Best Place in Mirissa - we found Tranquility.”

This was the best place to stay. That the house is clean but a bit run down was more than made up for by the warmth, friendliness and generosity of the staff. The amiable atmosphere they create infected the other guests too, so that everyone quickly got to know each other, which is unusual in most places we've stayed. The rooms and common areas are decorated with artworks. Breakfast was always good and plentiful, so we rarely felt the need for lunch. The house is close to the beac and good restaurants. I will definitely stay there again.
