I booked through on line for the deluxe room. I plan to pay more for deluxe room than a regular room coz I need more space as it said bigger. And I supposed everything should be better than regular.

But i arrived in a room on basement floor, which they claimed it is a garden floor. The window is looking at a wall of bamboo shade and also see the toilet sign on the far end.

However, The front desk managed to change my room to regular room, right away. It is nicer even though it is smaller, and I pay less too. So avoid the Garden floor. There is no garden.

We just had dinner here but it was such a great one it is worth putting a review down for it.
Service was very kind and great and accommodating.
We did the set menu which was outstanding and had a view of the Japanese garden.
Very fancy and elegant place to take a date to, definitely.
Loved the decoration, atmosphere and music.
    Great find.

Stayed a night and as my mother needed disabled facilities, this is a great choice. Room is spacious, clean and functional! It is a bit out of the central Kyoto town centre but otherwise it is quiet and we had a restful sleep. Breakfast does the job though can be improved

We arrived very late (11pm) but the staff were expecting us and we were shown to our rooms on the Garden level. They were modern and comfortable with free wifi and good bathrooms. The electrical outlets worked with US style two prong cables by the way.
We decided that we would have a quick reviver in the bar before it closed at midnight, and the bar became a favorite gathering spot for us with its cosy atmosphere and friendly staff.
Breakfast is a buffet with an omelette station or you can order a Japanese style breakfast if you want.

As a base the hotel is next door to a major temple and museum cbut it is really a taxi ride or a long walk to the downtown area with a lot of the shops and restaurants.

It was very clean, well maintained and the staff were terrific.

The hotel is modern and restrained in style. The rooms are conservatively furnished and very comfortable.

The things that set the hotel apart are the breakfast buffet, varied and very high quality produce (please also try the Japanese set breakfast) - the quality of the service (the staff are eager that you enjoy your stay) - the attention to detail (just sit for a moment and watch the flowers in the lobby being refresh in the morning.)

The hotel is a little way out of the city centre, but taxis and public transport are good, and this is not a problem after the first day.
