I always read reviews before booking a hotel. Somehow doing homework ahead of time did not help me. We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights, paying an average of $200 per night. Our stay on 12/31 amounted to over $300 per night for the two of us. I noticed the price has dropped before our stay and contacted Japanican.com. Unfortunately we could not get adjustment and we also could not cancel without paying penalty.

The hotel is definitely not a good value for the money we spent. I am shocked to see the price has dropped to $39 per night now. May be we booked at the wrong site.
We paid Total Amount: JPY 68,080. This is also the first time that we were charged per person, not per room.

Room 1 JPY 17,360 Adult : JPY 8,680 x 2guests = JPY 17,360

Room 1 JPY 40,800 Adult : JPY 20,400 x 2guests = JPY 40,800

Room 1 JPY 9,920 Adult : JPY 4,960 x 2guests = JPY 9,920

The only good thing was the front desk staff was so nice that she changed our semi double room to a twin room and gave us two beds, instead of one bed.

Shin Yokohama is so close to Tokyo that there is really no need to stay at Shin Yokohama at all for us. For our trip from Tokyo to Kyoto, and back to Tokyo visiting different cities on the way, this is the worst value for our money.

No complaints with such affordable price. Refurbished rooms with old exterior outlook. Booked the "Grand Deluxe Twin Room" but they gave us a cheaper room "Deluxe Corner Twin Room". Don't bother about paying much for the Grand Deluxe room because they are the same.

This was the first Japanese hotel to allow us to check-in early.....unheard of. Nice bright room with excellent block out curtains. Quiet hotel and only one and a half blocks from Shin-Yokohama Stations overhead covered walkway.

We stayed here for 8 nights in the middle of July and had a brilliant time there. The hotel is located just across he road from an entry to the subway station and minutes walk from the Shin Yokohama station and Shinkansen station so it is in a great location if you plan to travel around . The hotel has a cafe on the ground floor which was cheap enough for breakfast or a coffee, the reception and lobby was very well presented. All the staff were excellent and displayed the amazing level of service that we found all through Japan. The room was clean and the fixtures were in a good state. Bathroom was a decent size for a Japanese hotel and had a nice deep tub, good shower and of course an electronic toilet with heated seat and bidet function. The hotel also has a gym and swimming pool in the basement level which cost extra per day if you use them, pool was a decent size and was good to cool off in after a long day in the summer heat. There is also a small sento bathroom which was a brilliant experience. The area around the hotel has plenty of convenience stores and there are lots of good places to eat at the Cubic plaza at the station. The Shin Yokohama Ramen musuem is a 5 minute walk away and is a great place to visit. I would highly recommend this hotel and wouldn't hesitate to stay here the next time I visit Yokohama.

I've been researching the best place to stay in Yokohama based on accessibility to the attractions we want to visit and I chose this because of its proximity to the Ramen Museum and Shin-Yokohama station. We didn't take the subway, but we took the JR line and it was very convenient.

Check-in was breezy, the wi-fi password wasn't on the table, but posted on the wall below the airconditioning controls, it was fast too.

It was raining when we arrived and it rained the whole afternoon until evening, but that didn't stop us from our plans to explore.

I like the accessibility of this hotel because we just walked to Donki, Sushiro, there are a lot of convenience stores nearby, as well as 2 branches of Starbucks that are not that far. The Shin-Yokohama station was also accessible to other stations like Sakuragicho, which is the gateway to the Minato Mirai 21 area, Cosmo world, and the Cup Noodle Museum.

The beds were comfortable, there were yukata provided for us, and we just left our luggage with them on our second day to explore before heading to Shinjuku. I'd definitely recommend this.

Room tip: Choose the room with 2 beds
