Spent a lovely weekend with a couple of friends and our dogs in this beautiful typical 400 year old cottage. The bathroom and shower rooms were spotless and our beds were made whilst out on our morning stroll to the cove. The breakfast meant we didnt require lunch and the dogs loved their sausage and apple provided once we had eaten our breakfasts. We didnt enjoy the best of the english summer, having storms and a lot of rain but the welcome and hospitality from Jackie and Bob more than made up for the damp weather. Thouroughly enjoyable stay, thankyou both .. Lesley from Westbury and Ellie the ham stealing pooch !!

Super cottage in a lovely street all with gorgeous thatched roofs, Jackie and Bob were charming people who could not do enough for you, breakfast time is a real treat and certainly keeps you going for most of the day. No hesitation in recommending this super cottage to stay

I booked 2 rooms for 3 nights to spend the bank holiday weekend with the children.
First thing you see on arrival is a small, neglected garden, covered with concrete. Not a pleasant place to sit and relax.
The rooms were extremely small. The en-suite room had no shower, just a bath. The only shower was communal. The second room had a window that wouldn't close and we could hear the road noise till late at night. The wardrobe door was broken and couldn't open fully as the bed was in the way. The linen was covered with cat or dog hair. It was very noisy till late at night as we could hear other people's every move.
After a sleepless night, we had a generous breakfast of very poor quality served in dishes which didn't appear clean.
We felt it was impossible to spend any more time in this house and decided to go home earlier (after just 1 night), not without a drama from the owner. We were asked to pay the full price (3 nights) although I mentioned all the above things for reasons to leave.
I wonder whether the customer is protected in such cases and I think there sould be money back guarantee if the standards are so poor.
It was a very disappointing experience. We had hoped to celebrate my daughter's and my husband's birthdays and to explore the coast and nearby attractions. Instead we wasted our time and money...
I do not recommend this acomodation to anyone.

Just stayed one night at Tewkesbury Cottage after a strenuous day walking the coastal path, when a hot bath was essential. Friendly and very caring Jackie offered to help my limping husband up the stairs on arrival! Huge delicious breakfast. Thoughtful additions in the room. Good value. Only criticism is I didn't like their brand of coffee, but we all have different tastes don't we? Will bring sachets of my own next time!
