We visited Dalgarven Mill last week (Aug 2017) and found it absolutely amazing. The Mill was hidden away down a small lane but you could hear the water wheel going as we parked the car. The ground floor and some of the 1st floor are given over to an amazing costume museum/display. The historic dresses are beautiful and have small interesting notes on their specific history by each outfit. There are also accessories displayed like hats and gloves and jewellery. As we were looking around we were asked by a chap if we were enjoying the dresses - The chap turned out to be Rob, the owner of the collections and the Mill. He was really interesting to talk too and was extremely passionate about the place and the costumes and spent a good hour with us showing us some achive pieces. The other areas of the Mill have displays of room settings of the past and you can also see the moving workings of the Mill as it would have worked -driven by the water wheel. On site is also a lovely tea room. Freshly made soup and a home baked cake selection was available as well as sandwiches and toasties and a specials board. If you are within an hours drive of Dalgerven Mill it is a must for a visit. We spent over 3 hours there and enjoyed every minute and could have spent longer had we explored the woodland walks. Well done Rob and the team for all your hard work in restoring the Mill to its current state, we hope to come and visit again on our next trip to Scotland and see how you have developed further. Thank you for spending so much time with us showing us some of the archive clothing and introducing us to some other back stage members of your team. Xxx
