The trail was great and saw plenty of gators and birds along the path and the boardwalk. Easy to walk and beautiful scenery.

This is a great place for people who don't get much exposure to wildlife to start building an appreciation of nature and animals. Alligators are everywhere; anhingas dry their wings on tree branches; and hawks and herons soar overhead. Everyone should visit this place at least once.

If you only have a couple of hours and wish to find out what the Everglades is all about, the Anhinga Trail is the place to go. There is a $10 charge per car at the entrance to Everglades and about 10 minutes down the road is the Royal Palm Visitor Center, where the Anhinga Trail can be found. This mile long trail is on a boardwalk that takes you through a small sample of the Everglades. While there, you will see many migrating and native birds, including the famous "Anhinga", as well as the alligators and other creepy crawlers that make the Everglades their home. This is a wonderful introduction to the rest of the park and very accessible by all ages and sizes.

We stopped at each pull-off/visitor center spot in the Everglades National Park and this was my favorite one. There are 2 trails, one short one through the woods and the Anhinga Trail. The latter went along a stream with plenty of alligators and wading birds to see. At the end is a nice big pond. I will post some pictures I took along the trail.
