“An easy way for people with all abilities to enjoy the breathtaking views of the Grand Canyon.”
Reviewed 5 April 2012

The Rim Trail is a paved walkway all along the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. With very little elevation gain and a ashphalt at your feet, this is a great way to see the canyon with everyone. It not too strenous on the young or old and the views are amazing. It's perfect for both strollers and wheelchairs. We walked from the El Tovar East to Mather Point. I would highly recommend it as an easy way to see spectacular views of the Grand Canyon.

“Easy walK with splendid view”
Reviewed 1 April 2012

We walked three miles on the western part of the rim, ending up at hermits rest. The unsaved parts of the trail were best --just you and the edge. Note that there was ofte a less formal path closer to the edge that one could choose even in the paved sections.

“Easy walking”
Reviewed 31 March 2012

This is a flat, paved trail that winds along the rim of the Canyon. Walk it at Sunset so you can watch the colors of the rock change down in the canyon. There are turn-outs and points of interest that are educational and will teach you alot about the geology and history of the canyon. There are benches and restrooms along the way. There are several points where you can catch the shuttle bus back to the Visitors Center or to other places in the Park.

“A good and easy walk along the southern rim”
Reviewed 28 March 2012

This is a nice and easy paved walk along the southern rim. We walked from Mather Point close to the Bright Angel Trailhead and back, that’s close to 6 km. The trail has great views of the Canyon, a lot of info signs and benches, great rocks samples of the rock types in the Canyon. The Geology Museum along the walk in Yavapai Point is worth visiting. You can expect a lot of people along the trail in summer time but in March it was not too crowded. A very easy way to get a good introduction to the Canyon. However, make sure to take water as there is no place to buy a bottle along the trail.
