No in-cabin internet, no phone service, only access by boat or plane or hiking the Pacific Crest Trail. A great way to enjoy the outdoors "off the grid" while enjoying good meals and living conveniences .

There is a choice of tent cabins with shared separate bathrooms and no electric or cabins with electricity and inside bathrooms, depending on price. Not inexpensive as everything has to be brought in by ferry except what is grown in the area. Still it is overall a great value as all three meals and transportation around Stehekin are included in the cost.

Located 9 miles from ferry landing, Stehekin Valley Ranch picks up guests at the landing and also takes them to and from hiking trails etc. By next year there will be a paved road from the ferry landing to the ranch. Hiking, fishing, trail rides, supported backpacking (horses), bikes (electric bikes available at the ranch also) , kayaks, tours and other activities are available at an extra cost (hiking free).

Meals are healthy and of good quality and there are some a la carte options for each meal. Desserts (most from the bakery in Stehekin) have a great reputation and are made fresh daily: always a choice of a variety of pies..

The cabins offer a rustic but acceptable sleeping area, though most would benefit from extra hooks to hang coats, hiking packs, etc. Beds are decent and some cabins have day beds, an upgrade from the futons in some.

The owners and staff are friendly and helpful and committed to giving guests a positive experience.

I have stayed at Stehkhin valley ranch many times, joining up with the Hobnailer's hiking group from Spokane--which has been going annually for over 30 years, starting when accommodations were much more primitive. I have already signed up for next year.

Room Tip: The cabins with electricity and private bath are worth the extra price if there is a chance of rain.

I have been going to Stehekin Valley Ranch with a group of friends for the last 23 years. Some of our group hike in via Rainy Pass, some ride the Lady Express and some fly in. We all rent cabins and enjoy a few days of fun and relaxation. The cabins are clean and lovely, although the stairs to the upper bedroom would be challenging for anyone with any infirmity. The food at the ranch is wonderful and varied and can accommodate vegetarian as well. Over the years I have ridden the horses, taking the kayaking trip, rented bikes and had fun doing each activity. Some of the men in our group spend the time fly fishing and most of the women take lots of hikes which are all beautiful and nearby. This year we all treated ourselves to the massage service at the Ranch. There are no televisions, very little internet access and no hair dryers can be used there. There is gentle beauty, access to hikes, fishing, biking, kayaking electric bikes and horse back riding. and conversation with all types of interesting people. Best of all, there are 7 kinds of pie for dessert after the delicious meals. This is a great gathering place for friends or family reunions.

Room Tip: Regular cabins have bathrooms, tent cabins are rustic.

This is a true opportunity to unplug and get away. It is 2.5 hrs away at he end of Lake Chelan, a gorgeous ride, if there are no wildfires. The bus picks you up at the landing for a ride up he valley to the ranch. We stayed in a rustic cabin with a comfortable queen bed, a futon for the 2 children, a small kitchenette( not really used), and 3 fabulous home cooked meals provided daily. Best of all were the home made desserts/pies, picked up fresh from the bakery daily. Transportation was provided as needed, to he many hiking trail heads , even the Pacific crest trail. At night, he tables are set family style, so you have the opportunity to converse with other travelers, even those who have made the long journey from Mexico on the PCT. You can feel their excitement as they near the end of such an adventure and enjoy their tales of survival and accomplishment.
Bethany, the ranch manager, Chrissa, the activity director, and the Courtney family are welcoming, enthusiastic , and helpful in making your stay relaxing and comfortable.

Room Tip: Some of the cabins have kitchenettes

We stayed for a weekend. My husband and son hiked in from Rainy Pass, I took the Lady of the Lake Express up there. The staff is just fantastic, so friendly and accommodating. All the meals are included and is was awesome. We had cabin 6 - which included a bathroom - great cabin, comfortable and clean.
We would highly recommend staying at Stehekin Valley Ranch.

I was hiking the PCT and stumbled upon Stehekin unintentionally. What a delightful place! I stayed in a tent cabin which was a lovely little old-fashioned one-room cabin with a hammock out front. I loved it! The staff was friendly, there are rental bikes on-site, a large dining hall (with a welcoming fireplace), and an upstairs loft filled with books and board games. I hope to return again soon!
