My family of 4, two daughters 4 and 11, wished we had more time at the 5 spot ! A great launching point to explore Kings Canyon and a relaxing retreat !

Close enough to Kings Canyon and Sequoia to enjoy the parks during the day. Far enough to escape the crouds and enjoy the peace and quiet. The outdoor space was nicer then any cabin I have ever stayed at. Lots of beautiful flowers and wonderful smells. The kitchen was well stocked and the cabin had more necessities then most. There was no TV, that freaked my kids out but enhanced the family time. The bed was a very firm thin mattress with no box springs. That may suit some but led to restless nights for me.

loved the cabin! Great layout, great artwork, even a sauna which felt great after a day of hiking. My favorite area was the back porch with its. view of the trees. Would definitely stay there again.

Fivespot is a truly special place with an artful spirit and peaceful setting. The thoughtful amenities far exceeded our expectations. It was quite comfortable in every respect. Nice patio and outdoor spaces. The library is amazing. It is very private and comfortable. We definitely hope to return.

The cabin exceeded our expectations in the level of care and attention given to all the little details that make a home. It was very well appointed in terms of bedding, towels and kitchen equipment and we appreciated the flowers and fresh fruit that greeted us, as well as the provision of pantry staples. It has a lovely outdoor patio with feeders for the hummingbirds and plenty of seating plus lanterns and candles. Lots of games and interesting books and magazines and it was all very clean. We only wished we could have stayed much much longer. Our host took great care in sending complete directions and answering my questions before we booked. A wonderful vacation spot.

My husband and I recently spent 3 nights in this lovely cabin with our 2 girls (8 and 5) which is a 15-20 minute drive to the entrance of Sequoia/Kings Canyon National Park. We left each day early in the morning and hiked and explored the parks until late in the afternoon returning to a lovely oasis with all the amenities. In the early evening, the girls explored the property, my husband read and I thumbed through all of the fabulous back issues of magazines and old books the owners have collected. At night, we hiked up the hill on the property to view the stars with a fantastic view of the Milky Way. The kitchen is well stocked with all the tools to make breakfast/lunch/dinner. The beds are comfortable and the cabin is well appointed with everything you need for a lovely getaway. Mahalia provided detailed directions well in advance of our arrival and provided valuable suggestions for picking up provisions before heading to the cabin. NOTE: The California drought is a reality here and in the park. Mahalia ensured we were aware of the safety procedures for wildfires and had extensive instructions for what to do in an emergency. This did not detract from our stay but made us mindful of a day to day concern for the residence of California.
