Traveling in November it is off season so you can travel very easily from the town of Springdale where there are many hotels. We loved the Desert Pearl Inn. The Park is spectacular of course and it is wonderful to be in the park, but if you are off season when the days are short, I wouldn't even bother to stay one night at the lodge. I didnt see the motel type accommodations (they have a TV), but the cabins are tiny, tiny bed, noisy heat .. so again look in Springdale. The food is just passable...decent fish and chips, terrible buffalo meat loaf.
In Springdale you have a decent selection of good food. Skip Wildcat Willies. Go to Oscars.
If you are coming in or out from the east of route 89 look for Chez Bison aka Buffalo Grill. Very good.

Lodging rates were reasonable at $99 per night for a king bed, upper floor. We stayed in the building closest to the main lodge. The building itself isn't like the grand old lodges but it is adequate, comfortable, clean and warm. Breakfast vouchers for each morning were included in our rate and ordering was off the main breakfast menu. The dining room was clean, nicely lit and service was attentive for both breakfast and dinner.

What a great time to stay in the park!

Zion National Park is stunning. Their historic hotel sets nicely in the park. We went for New Year's and for their New Year's Party and dinner.

Our reservations were made online. Once made, it did not note that we should make our dinner reservations early. We ended up with a 9:30 PM dinner time. We showed up at 8:30 (as we were told we could be put on the wait list). The hostess forgot to give us a caller button...and so about five or six couples with later reservations were seated before us. We went back to get one, and asked about being seated soon...we had to "wait our turn". We were not seated until 10:30 PM. Their restaurant was overbooked and the reservations were not spaced out accordingly for time and amount of reservations made. Additionally, they ran out of food by the time we were seated, and the food was over cooked. Just an unpleasant experience. The manager did ask how things were, offered a new dish, but by then we had just had it.

New Year's party was great! Much better food and great people there!

When checking in, their staff was wonderful!

The room was okay...our heater wasn't working as it should, but still comfortable.

We stayed at the Zion lodge for 2 nights during our honeymoon.

We were thoroughly impressed with the lodge and would most definitely return.

As the hotel were informed that we were honeymooning, we arrived to find a bottle on champagne in our room, complete with an ice bucket and two glasses. We wished we could have stayed longer!

Unbeatable location, but the rooms were small for a family of four. However, it was totally worth it to be able to be in the park and walk to the trails. We walked the Middle Pool trail next door and the scenery was sublime. Also recommend the restaurant.

Room Tip: Depending on the weather a room close to the main lodge is convenient.

Excellent base to stay. Lovely ambiance in the checking in area with friendly staff, good restaurant with friendly, accommodating staff - buffet breakfast very adequate. Amazing place to stay - the scenery is breathtaking, especially when there is snow, sun and blue sky. Cabin was a little chilly at times, but the fire was nice to have. Kinda cool there was no TV but having the all necessary wifi was handy. Good to see that the soap/shampoo/conditioner/shower gel was in eco-friendly containers - totally great idea - all hotels should do this!

We stayed at Zion lodge on a winter package, which included buffet breakfast for 2 each morning. We stayed in a cabin, which was beautifully furnished and had a nice fireplace. The food in the restaurant was very nice, and we also dined in the nearby town. Being able to access trails from the lodge without having to jump in the car was great, and the park is stunning. Having recently stayed in a number of national park lodgings, Zion lodge is definitely my pick for the friendliness of staff, cleanliness and overall ambience.
