My partner and I wanted to explore France's famed Loire Valley, and commenced searching online while still at nome in New Zealand. Being so far away, you never know quite what you use going to get when you book some Img on the other side of the world. But The Little Arch was absolutely wonderful!
We arrived from Paris, and were greeted warmly by the owners, Janet and Stephen. They showed us our gite, and it was every bit as delightful as the TripAdvisor photos indicated! When we first entered it felt so clean and fresh, and ideal for our base in the Loire.
* The bathroom was modern, which was appreciated, and adjacent to that was the kitchen-dining area. This was very characterful, and we felt like we were in something from Location, Lovatuib, Location, or Holiday Homes Abroad or something!
* The large kitchen was fantastic - there were just the two of us, but it would easily have catered for more. Excellent lighting throughout too.
* The bedroom is a couple of steps up from the kitchen-dining area, and was a restful, peaceful sanctuary. The French doors and balcony railing were a nice touch and offered a great vantage point for some early-morning sunrise photography.
Janet and Stephen were kind enough to show us around the other gites, and they looked to be just as beautifully designed and finished. I thought it really clever that they could be reconfigured to work together as a single large unit meaning family groups could go there. The hosts also provided plenty of useful information about the surrounding area and about the sights to be seen - their advice about which Chateaux to visit proved invaluable.
In fact we were so happy with our time at The Little Arch that after a few days elsewhere in a francs. We returned to The Little Arch and stayed for anther couple of nights. Thank you to ate owners for setting up such a beautiful place to stay.
