Zopilote is a good choise for travellers who love nature and like to live a wild experience. The hostel is in the middle of a natural reserve and you can have some chance to have breakfast with monkeys and Urracas... You can also do yoga lessons with the amazing yoga master Harmony... Reccomended

Zopliote is a very "Ometepe" place to stay. It consists of multiple different areas with vegetable gardens, lookouts, dorms, cabins, and a restaurant/reception area. Appropriate for the traveler that doesn't require much. Rooms and dorms are basic. There is wifi in the restaurant/reception area as well. They hold different events during the week as well. At $10 for a single bed in an open-air dorm (no walls) I'd say its a little expensive for what you get. Overall, a great place to stay for your Ometepe trip. If luxury and relaxation is more your thing maybe this place is not for you. Thanks!

For €10 a night we expected a normal dorm but we got a bed under a roof in the middle of the jungle with big holes in our mosquito nett so we had to sleep with 3 in the only bed that did have a good nett because our beds were full of insects! Especially when you've seen tarantula's crawling around!! The toilets stink, it's hard to find your dorm back cause it's a big farm and there are no signs, and the staff can't speak english. Definitely wouldn't recommend this hostel

I think this is one place that will alway divide opinion. It's got a very 'hippy' vibe - and if you can't get on board with that, you probably won't enjoy staying here. The rooms are hot - no fans. Is pretty much impossible to sleep with the humidity after 7am. There are mosquito nets but no sheets when I stayed because it was too humid too dry them. The food was great - especially the bread for breakfast. The facilities are rustic - but showering under the stars surrounded by fireflies was magical. There is ok wifi in the reception. Check out sunset from the mirador. Pizza night was A LOT of fun - thanks guys ;)

The farm was a great experience. We had great conversations with the guests who had been staying longer, very friendly vibes. Lots of great food onsite no need to go elsewhere. Pizza night was great, many locals came out which was really fun!

Zopilote is a very nice place to be in Ometepe. Everything is organic and natural in this hostel. don't expect a luxury 5 star hotel. just ok beds. The double beds are actually good for 1.5 persons.
We had a bat and some other creatures living with us in the room. Don't forget to have a mosquito repellant with you..

First of all I think Zopilote is a good hostel with nice food, excellent pizza and great yoga however there was definitely a strange vibe to the place.

After some consideration about where this strange vibe came from I have come to the conclusion that it was due to the staff hanging out in their own group, not really being approachable and just playing chess the whole time.

I've met other people that also stayed here and a lot of them agreed with me.

If you're traveling in a group then this is a good place to stay but if you're by yourself I'd give it a miss.
