What a trip! The Tryall Club provided everything a family could want in a vacation. Beautiful accommodations, outstanding service, great food and high quality entertainment along with some of the most amazing oceanfront views you've ever seen. I was so thrilled with the friendly and accommodating staff, who were always there for us.

The activities for kids and grown-ups alike are limitless. Tennis, golf, croquet, sailing, snorkeling, kayaking, nature hikes and opportunities for rest and relaxation at every turn. Our girls (5 and 11) couldn't stop raving about the daily kids club activities. Their smiles told the whole story! Most of our time was spent at the beach or in the pool and we wouldn't want it any other way. We're already planning our next visit!

If you are looking for a pool scene and active night life, look elsewhere.

If you want to float on a raft in your own private pool, sit on a near empty beach or eat lunch in your own "restaurant" - this is your place.

The villas are beautiful surrounded by flowers and fruit trees that create a very private experience, but it is the peace and quiet that won me over. We moved at our own pace. The private chef was brilliant and served exceptional meals.

We stayed in the Faith Walk villa down near the beach (but not on the beach) and really liked the closeness to the ocean (easy walk) vs staying in one of the villas on the hill, but that is personal preference as the hill villas have great views.

It was fun to have your own golf cart to zip around the beautiful resort.

I can't say enough nice things about the staff at this resort as they made our stay comfortable and relaxing.

The only things that I would do different next time (and I hope it will be soon), is that I would have brought shampoo from home (not in the room), maybe brought some of the basic food items from home (have to buy in the resort store things) and decided what we want to eat for meals in advance (the chef was very flexible, but we needed to decide what we wanted to eat every day vs having a menu, and once we got the hang of planning meals vs usually just winging it, it went very well).

This was one of the most relaxing vacations I've had and will be back.

I have traveled around the world but have never been to a resort as good as this!!! It was a great family vacation. My 2 brothers and parents came with me. We stayed at Faithwalk " Little Palm".
We had a staff of a maid, cook, gardner and laundry person. The room was so clean! The food was the best I ever had!! It was things like chicken nuggets, curried chicken, eggs, French toast etc. Also the pool was amazing. The garden was also very pretty. We had 2 golf carts. 1 for the staff and one for the guests. We also had a great nanny. The staff was very helpful. I suggest you go there today!

Room Tip: Rooms on the beach are great.

Two families rented Bumpers Nest for a week. Amazing house, fantastic and caring staff and very impressed by Tryall overall. Didn't feel the need to even leave the compound.

Our kids loved the tennis (again, great people as ball boys/instructors), pool and beach. Loved the Jamaican hospitality and would definitely return to Tryall. Thank you.

I want to start by thanking the management and staff of Tryall, Sandy Bay. Every staff member we encountered was friendly, smart and they all went out of their way to help! I want to say a special thank you to a caddy named "Gas"; he's a gifted golfer and all around great guy. Douglas a.k.a. Rastaman is a houseman I think; he's good guy and needless to say he was really helpful throughout the week. On a side note he has the coolest dreads I've ever seen. I'd also like to thank Walker, our driver for the week. Walker took us to Bob Marley's house (museum), Rick's Place (must see/do high-dive!) and Bluefields/Whitehouse fish market, where the locals were grateful to us for leaving the fish heads behind!

Back at Tryall we had a great time. We played lots of golf and Tennis (of course) but we also enjoyed relaxing on their beautiful beaches with occasional trips to the Rum Bar and Beach Club! The ninth hole of their golf course is one of the most beautiful places I've ever stood; the views, the natural landscape and the Sun are just incredible.

I'm grateful to my friend for referring me to this property! I would gladly go back and stay at Tryall! Thanks for reading, Jason

We stayed in one of the one bedroom villas that was part of the main hotel. The rooms were spacious, comfortable and beautiful. We loved being right by the main hotel because we enjoyed eating in the main dining room and on the patio. Breakfast by the bif open windows looking out onto the bay was oe of our favorite times of the day. The food at all our meals was excellent.
The service was outstanding - a friendly and helpful person was assigned to our villa and took care of our laundry and cooking needs.
Our son is a very good golfer and really enjoyed the course.
We hope to make a return trip in the very near future.

Room Tip: We stayed in the hibiscus villa. We liked its location (close to the main house) but my guess is th...

We recently took a family vacation staying at Harmony Hill villa with 12 of us, ranging in age from 18 months to 70. It was an amazing experience. Harmony Hill isn't cheap, but if you are comfortable with the cost, it is an ideal escape for a large family.

OUR VILLA -- HARMONY HILL
Harmony Hill is great for kids. Not only could you hire a nanny ($5-10/hr), but the villa & staff are extremely family friendly. The cribs they had matched the quality that we have at home, not any old travel cot. The housekeepers change the crib sheets when they change everyone else's bedding. The chef was AMAZING with the three kids (ranging from 1-4years)... preparing separate kids meals for them for dinner and always serving them early. The butler was more than happy to whip up smoothies for them to drink poolside, and they have plenty of unbreakable glasses & plates for the little ones. There are pool toys for them, plus a great selection of kids games that kept them more than happy. In addition, everyone on the staff was so lovely to them. I am not sure whether the villa staff moved any fragile artwork/sculptures out of reach before we arrived, but we didn't have to worry about them knocking over priceless art. There is a big yard for them to run around in and plenty of space for them to play in general.

The villa itself is fantastic. Spacious, beautiful, beach-y casual. It seamlessly blends indoor and outdoor living. Every detail is furnished to an extremely high standard. The views are amazing. But what really made the experience for us was the staff. You don't have to lift a finger. They are all top-notch. The gardener (who used to work at the Ritz-Carlton) who gave the grandmothers flower arranging talks & tours of the grounds. He also showed the kids the mango & banana trees on the villa property which they loved. The chef, Lennox, made the most amazing food for every meal. Fresh pool towels were always laid out and the butler made us wonderful drinks & cocktails. Your laundry is done everyday and delivered back to your room with flowers on top! Before arriving I worried that the staff of 10 might seem intrusive. Not at all. They never were underfoot, but always close by if you needed them for anything.

The only watch out I would have for this villa is to make sure the floor plan/bedroom arrangements will meet the needs of your group. Two of the suites (Ocho Rios & Sandy Bay) are quite far away from the main living areas. They probably wouldn't be suitable for very small children, even if the parents were sharing a room, as you wouldn't be able to see if they left the room or hear them if you were having dinner. The two cottage suites (which were under construction, but looked great when we were there) are even more separate from the main living areas. However, for many groups such a layout could be just what you want. Check out the floor plan on the villa's own website www.harmonyhilljamaica.com

The villa owner is great and extremely helpful in arranging your visit ahead of time. She set up an escort to help us through immigration & customs, which saved us TONS of time, and was a real lifesaver with little kids coming off a flight. The villa has a relationship with a separate driver, who was fabulous, for both airport transfers & off-property excursions.

It really is like having an entire, fabulous boutique hotel just for yourselves.

TRYALL CLUB
One of the main reasons we picked Tryall is that we wanted the privacy of a private villa with the amenities and options of a full resort. Tryall met that aim nicely. There is a wide variety of activities... beach, watersports, spa, golf, tennis, a kids club, small playground, afternoon tea, croquet, volleyball, bocce ball. Plus the option of off-property activities & excursions as well.

We found the club/resort facilities to be of a lower quality (although still very lovely) than our villa. Most common areas look like they were built in the 1960's. But the prices for the most part around the club are very reasonable. The beach is too small for beach walks, but perfect for kids to play on or to catch some sun. The house reef isn't great for snorkelling either.

The restaurant/bar scene isn't very happening at all, so if you want that plan to go off property. Our group also did the beach BBQ one night, which we found disappointing, at least for the price. It was the only element we didn't feel was a good value.

The entire resort feels extremely secure & safe. We never had any issues with that aspect.

The resort staff also gave us a tour of several other villas that were unoccupied while we were there. Twin Palms was especially lovely, but much more formal (probably good for groups of adults/families with teens)

Overall I would recommend both Tryall and Harmony Hill whole-heartedly.
