On holiday locally, the village store is a little gem. So nice to see it at the heart of the community here. Just off the main road, well signposted, it is easy to find and full of interesting local produce and store cupboard essentials

We were very surprised to find such a wonderful shop in this little Village. The selection of food - some is even home made - is great as is the choice of wines. Try try the owner's own honey! Service is attentive and friendly. With a shop like this, who needs or wants to go to an impersonal supermarket?!

Arriving early for a meeting near Winfrith and desperate for a coffee, I followed the sign on the A352 to "best Dorset village shop" and was thrilled to see the shop open and welcoming. Sadly the coffee machine wasn't working but the manager couldn't have been nicer or friendlier and made me a cup of coffee herself. Amazing! There were all kinds of things for sale - a small deli counter with tempting fresh goodies, a few shelves of local Dorset produce, plus all the things you need if you live in place without a supermarket. Oh - and a post office as well! The staff couldn't have been friendlier and I'll definitely stop there again next time I'm in that part of the country.

This is a lovely village store run by Pascal and his friendly informed team.

In a county famous for its food and drink it is good to see a shop that stocks local produce both food and drink. They also sell freshly baked bread, quiches and cakes. Arrive there early as the bread which is excellent runs out early.

Its also nice to see that this shop also has a post office which is good for those that still like to send postcards home.
