A beautiful cool day, the grounds so neatly manicured, up the majestic stair case to our sun soaked, elegant and cosy room. The afternoon melted away. The colours, the bedding, the bed! We didn't want to get up again but we're glad we did. The food, the drink, the service - spot on! Can't wait to go there again!!!

Another meeting at Shadow Lawn and another incredible experience. The entire staff cares about the customer experience and makes sure everyone feels at home. The food was second to none and the charming atmosphere helps everyone relax. Can't wait for my next visit to Shadow lawn.

My wife woke me up last night at just after 2AM to tell me she thought there was a mouse in our room and to make a long story short, sure enough, she was right. Then we were awoken again at between 6 & 630 AM to the conversation between the couple in the next room. They were speaking in a conversation tone but it is as if they were sitting in our room. Last time we stayed here the continental breakfast was very unimpressive.

Sir,

We are sorry about your recent experience at our Inn. Our building is 146 years old and unfortunately there are some issues that accompany an old structure. This is a very rare situation made worse by the road construction upheaval. We have dealt with the problem. Our housekeeping staff is meticulous about cleaning our guest rooms.

We are constantly working to improve our continental breakfast. We appreciate your feedback.

We will be in touch to reimburse you for the full cost of your stay at Shadow Lawn Inn.

We were driving to St. John and all the hotels were filled so we decided to try this B&B as we had passed it many times while travelling in the area. The reception from the staff was warm and friendly. Our room was large with an adjoining bathroom. Our window overlooked a side yard and deck. There were a couple of receptions being held there that evening so when we returned from dinner out we couldn't find a parking place. I would suggest that overnight guests be given a specific parking area, at least one space for each room of which there are nine. We were going to eat at the restaurant in the B&B but the food was not to our liking as many dishes was very rich and spicy with Thai sauces and the like. The room was comfortable and wifi was available. The mattress on the bed was very soft and uncomfortable. Maybe a firmer mattress is needed or the mattress is in need of replacing. The noise could be heard from downstairs both at night and early in the morning. The house is in need of some refreshing and updating.

Thank you for your feedback.
All of our mattresses have been replaced in the past year with pillow top mattresses. Often the comfort of a bed is personal preference.
We have had great feedback on our menu options. We are sorry that you did not choose to try one of our more traditional non-Thai options. Our culinary staff is always willing to accommodate special requests to satisfy our guests.
We have worked hard for the last 6 years refreshing and updating our Inn, much of it being major renovations. We feel we have succeeded at combining contemporary and traditional styles at Shadow Lawn Inn.

We hope you will visit the Inn again the next time you are in the area.

The room was lovely. The stairs were numerous. The bed was comfortable. The night noise was robust. The television was functional. The bed was placed so that you needed to lay on your side. The breakfast was adequate. The muffins sported green.

We are very proud of our recent room renovations. We are happy you agree. Our building does not have an elevator. It is 146 years old and we do not state anywhere that we have an elevator.

We host many functions and sometimes the noise level is a little loud. Our functions always end by 11pm.

We hope you mentioned your dissatisfaction with the breakfast to the server. We take pride in what we serve and ensure that all food is safe for consumption.

This was a older hotel, last stop on a 9 day tour. The hotel manager met us at the door and carried our luggage right to our room. We had a wonderful meal in the dining room.(outstanding)
What I liked most is how a problem with my room was handled, with total professionalism. The lady manager was outstanding. The town is beautiful and I would stay there again.
The breakfast could use a little more imagination given the quality of the meal we had the night before, perhaps some bread from the local bakery.

It's in a quiet residential area, so if you're planning to walk to nearby places, this is not for you. But a lovely setting, good food, friendly service, free phone service, no elevators and high staircases. I'd stay there again.
