Dropped in on Sunday looking for a traditional beef Lunch. We got great service and a lovely meal at a very fair price- and the beer was good!

The staff very pleasant and helpful in our choice of meals, it was explained that because the meals are all cooked to order that there would be a slight wait.We decided to share a starter which was a mistake because on arriving we did not think we could finish the main course.I ordered the 12oz rump and it was cooked to perfection how I ordered it . The onion rings of which there was 3 could have been used as life belts they were that big cooked in a crisp golden brown batter combined with chunky chips , tomato , flat mushroom, carrots, peas and red cabbage. Truly a feast.

We visited today as a group of 8, 4 adults and 4 kids. The service was excellent and the food was wonderful. Most of us had the roast of the day with fresh veg and loads of gravy. We will definitely be returning to this little gem in thr Staffordshire countryside.

We live in the neighbouring village of Ipstones where we have the excellent Marquis of Granby. The same staff have now taken on the Fox and Goose in Foxt and brought with them the high standards of the Marquis.
We had excellent steaks (still sourced from the Ipstones Village Butcher) , a great Steak and Ale pie, and super battered Haddock. All the food was tasty, washed down with good wines, deliciously cooked and served by cheerful and helpful staff.
We are so fortunate to have such wonderful eateries so close, and well worth a drive if you are a tad further away.

First visit to this pub, lovely setting, great welcome from friendly staff.
It was fairly busy so enjoyed drinks whilst waiting for our food which was beatifully presented and looked almost too good to eat.
Atmosphere was good and conservatory area well laid out.
The host of the pub was absolutely brilliant and made our night with a gift of a kraken mug for my son...nice touch. Will definately return .
