Ristorante da Uto is right opposite where we are staying in the medieval village Mercatello sul Metauro. In short, I can only iterate the positive reviews that have been written about Umberto and his Ristorante da Uto. Impressed by the setting, the welcome of the host and the menu, we purposefully set out to sample different courses - cold and hot cuts for starters, pasta, and finally some meat dishes for main course. We had no room for dessert. The food was meticulously prepared and cooked, emphasising regional and seasonal origins - including Le Marche's cheeses, vegetables and venison. Umberto explained the context of the food and what was involved with each dish. The service was attentive, informative and engaging. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making visitors feel right at home. At Umberto's suggestion we drank the house red which was a good quality wine. We will make sure we go back to da Uto before our holidays end.
